Chapter 22: Safe and Sound

December 20
The kids were now home and they were safe again! The next day, they went on with their normal daily routines.

Tyrell's POV
It feels so great to have my dad back home again! It's been 4 years without him.

I was getting dressed for school and I was about to start my car. I drove to Hannah's to pick her up for school. I knocked on her door and she opened it furiously.

" Hannah, you're not ready?" I asked.

" We don't have school today, you moron! We're on winter break! We missed finals but our parents did them for us so we didn't have to worry about it over break," Hannah replied.

To be honest, I didn't know that we were on break. I guess if you've been in a dark dollhouse for so long, you would for get what day it is.

" Oh, I forgot!" I exclaimed.

" I know, me too! I was getting dressed and as I was about to grab breakfast, my dad told me it was Christmas break," Hannah told me.

Well, I'm glad to know that I wasn't alone on that one.

" By the way, do you want to come in and have breakfast with us?" Hannah asked.

" Sure," I replied coming inside her house.

I didn't expect her to invite me in for breakfast! I was going to ask my mom if that was okay, but I didn't because I knew that she would because I am usually at Hannah's or Marylee's around this time of day.

Hannah's mom made us chocolate chip pancakes. They were so good and she is a great cook!

As Hannah and I were eating, I got a phone call from Marylee.

Marylee: Tyrell, why aren't you at my house yet? What's taking you so long?

Me: Did you parents tell you? We're on Christmas break!

Marylee: We are? Oh yeah!

Me: Don't worry, I forgot too!

Marylee: I guess I'm not alone!

Me: Lol, no you're not!

Marylee: So anyways, me and the fierce women are going Christmas shopping. Do you and the boys want to tag along?

I found it quite strange that she invited me to shop with her. The girls never invited me and the boys to go shopping with them.

Me: Sure, I'll ask the boys once I leave Hannah's.

Marylee: What are you doing at Hannah's?

Me: I was going to pick her up for school, but she was the one who told me we were on break so she invited me over for breakfast.

Marylee: Ok, let me know soon!

Me: Okay bye!

Marylee's POV
I hung up the phone and I went to my room to get dressed for the day. I put on a long sleeved maroon turtleneck top tucked in with a pair of jeans. To match up the outfit, I added some Ugg boots and a grey coat since it was really cold today and i put on some hoop earrings. I did my makeup and I straightened my hair.

I got my camera because I planned on vlogging and updating my channel since I haven't update in weeks and filmed my intro before going downstairs.

" Hey guys, it's Marylee and I'm back! Sorry I didn't do Vlogmas this year! Something happened within these three weeks which I'll explain later because I have to get going. I am going to the mall with my fierce women and some other friends who have never been on my channel before to get some Christmas shopping done. I'll see you guys in a a bit."

I then shut my camera , got the rest of my stuff and headed downstairs.

To tell you the truth, I didn't really want to vlog too much because I'm spending genuine time with everyone because I don't see them as much anymore and I want to be off camera most of the time. Also, I'm sure they would be uncomfortable if I pulled up a camera and start vlogging.

" Mom, Dad! I'm going shopping with my friends," I told my parents.

My mom walked up to my from sitting on the couch.

" Okay dear, just be very careful! I don't want something like what just happened to happen again," My mom told me.

" Don't worry mom, nothing will happen. Even if anything did, we will be awake to call you," I replied giving my mom a kiss on the cheek.

I went outside and got in my car. Yes, I have a car too! I just don't use it very often because Tyrell is the one to take me to school, but I'm going to start driving to school myself because Hannah and Tyrell are graduating this year.

I was picking up the girls and Tyrell is picking up the boys because we couldn't fit everybody in my car.

I started driving and a turned on the radio only to hear Faith Hill's 'Where Are You Christmas'.

Third Person POV
The kids arrived to the mall to do some Christmas shopping for each other and their family.

" Guys, does it feel weird to be back here?" Daniel asked.

" Yeah," everyone replied.

" Was I the only one who forgot that there was Christmas break?" Peter asked.

" I did," Hannah, Tyrell, and Marylee replied.

" We were already on break when we got sent to the house," Pauline, Brianna, and Daniel said.

(Time skip)

Everyone got their shopping done and their parents were told to meet at DCI headquarters.

" What's going on? Is there another meeting?" Pauline asked.

" My dad said it is," Marylee replied.

The kids went to DCI headquarters to meet their parents.

" Kids, I'm so glad you're hear! All of us have good and bad news for you. What do you wanna hear first?" Rasa asked.

" Bad news!" Hannah blurted out and the rest of the kids stared at her.

" What? I like to hear best for last!"

" Okay okay! The bad news is that the places we were all were going to to see our families have been booked, so you guys won't be going to see your families this Christmas," Rasa announced.

" But on the bright side of that, we will all be spending Christmas together!" Lima added.

The kids cheered. Sure, they were a bit sad that they didn't get to be with their families for Christmas, but they were so happy to hear that they are going to spend Christmas with each other.

- I know I said the rest of the chapters of this story would be short, but I changed my mind when the kids got out of the dollhouse. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I have a chapter for it. Which is in the works. Also, after this story is over, I will be posting more of my new Miraculous book and I will try to get to my other stories!
