Chapter 3

A Blank Soul

That night DD could only sleep until about 12,so around midnight. DD woke up and had to run into the bathroom because he felt like he was going to throw up, but when he got there the feeling was gone. He returned back to his room and opened a window to let some cool air in. DD laid there for a while until he fell a sleep but then woke up suddenly. He had to throw up and he wasn't going to get to the bathroom in time he felt. DD leaned out the window to throw up but nothing comes out then the pain came back and DD throw up but what happened couldn't be explained. What came out of his mouth was a blob of white stuff. It came out, then there was another pulse and the stuff came out of his eye. DD was scared and started to scream but the stuff cover up the noise. Then there was a hole in his chest and the stuff was coming out around the hole as while. DD tried to scream or move but couldn't move and the next thing he known's Eddy and Ed are waking him up.

"DD? Dude what happened to you?" eddy said. DD sat up and felt his chest and opened his mouth. Ed and Eddy looked confused. "What day is it?" DD said getting up and getting dressed. "Monday. Both you and Ed were out for the whole weekend." Eddy said patting DD on the back. "Wait? How I was only asleep for a few hours?" DD said looking at the calendar. To DD surprise it was true, He was out for the whole weekend. DD got his stuff and went to school with Ed and Eddy. There was a lot of damaged done to the area. There were trees tilted or on the ground, branches were all over the place. There were holes, cracks and so much more damage done to the area. The Eds looked at each other and ran towards school. There was nothing wrong with the area around the school. The Eds were late so everyone was in class, it was about three hours before there was a meeting. Everyone had to gather in the theater.

DD was the last to enter so he had to find everyone else. They were in the back row at the top. DD had to take his time because he was still tired and stuff. The gang said their hellos, "Yo DD what happened to you and Ed?" Kevin said. Marie gave DD a hug and made sure he sat down next to her. "The two of you guys were out and we were worried." Marie said. DD hugged her and made sure that everyone was known's that both of them were all right. "May and Marie wouldn't sleep or anything when she found out you guys weren't all right" Lee said. Marie and May blushed, "So what's this meeting about?" Marie said. No one knew so they just waited until someone talked.

"Students! May I have your attention for a while!" the Principle said. Everyone became silent. " As you all know today is the day where we come together as a school and plan future events for the fall season" She said. This happens every year, students in the front row have to pay attention or listen more. If you are in the back or in the top rows then you are fine since the teachers don't go up there and it's dark so it is harder to see as while. The meeting takes about two hours, so the gang talked about future plans. "We have four games this week so the boys will be busy all this week," Nazz said. The girls seem down because of that, "Well we have next Friday and the concert will be tomorrow," Kevin said. "So what are you guys going to do something for the concert?" Jimmy asked. Everyone had to pause and think of what they would do.

"I will play my guitar I guess" Kevin said. "We Kankers, play rock and roll" Lee said giving May and Marie high-five. Johnny and jimmy said pass and Sarah said she would sing. "What about you Eds" Lee said. "Well, I was going to play my guitar as well and lumpy was going to play drums" Eddy said. DD thought for a moment and said, "It will be a surprise," DD said as he lean back in his chair. "So your keeping it a secret" jimmy said. "Well three people know what it is but I wouldn't say who" DD said with a grin.

The time went by quickly, the gang talked about future plan. Everyone got up and left to go to lunch. The day seemed normal but DD seemed out of it at times, there was moment when Marie or Eddy had to snap him out of it. Afterschool, DD skipped practice because he had to take the arm armor to the doctor. "Is Doctor Vick or Victor here? I have something to return." DD said to the nurse. "Yes, there are in the lab down the hall and to the left. DD went to the room and saw them, "Hey doctors, I have the arm armor," DD said. He handed it to Vick, "Thank you, we need to run some test." Vick said. "Walk into the next room and stand on the circle pad." Victor said walking to the controls. DD stood on the spot and then there was this light that lowered down and two poles came down. "What is this?" DD said looking at them. "It's a scanner, It will scan and check which will take two minutes or you can take the old fashion way and take an hour." Victor said with his hand on the on/off switch. DD nodded his head and the machine started up again. It spinded around and around DD, The lights started flashing, and there was a loud humming noise too. DD put his hand to his head and as the lights were going around and around then DD was having versions or clips of something. He had a first person view of someone; the person had white pale skin with black nails. It jumped out a window and ran around down the street; knock stuff over and breaking things. It was rain and the person fell to the ground and saw the reflection in the water. DD was able to see the face and it was a skull with two black lines going down over the eye. "Edward!" someone said, DD snap out of his daydream to see the machine had stopped and the doctor was talking to him.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't pay attention," DD said getting off. "Well we're done so you can go home now." Vick said. DD left and walked him, he past by the school and saw that no one was there so he went home. It was about seven at night, when DD was half away home. He looked up at the sky and the next thing he knows his vision was going darker and darker to the point he couldn't see. Then he was in bed and looking at his alarm clock, it says seven o clocks. DD looked around and he could see. He checks in the mirror to see if there was something in his eye or anything but he could. "Mom, what time did I come in?" DD said. His mom came to his bedroom door, "About eight, why" his mom said. DD sat on his bed and thought about what happened. "Well whatever it is that is bothering you can tell me," his mom said sitting next to him. "It's nothing, just tired and stuff" DD said getting his stuff ready for school. "If you say so dear, have a nice day at school." His mom said hugging him as he left. DD was early to school so he just sat in front of the school and slowly, people started showing up.

The gang showed up and joined DD and talked. About five minutes later the group of seniors showed up and push them all but DD. "Move it small fry!" someone said trying to move him, DD pushed him back. "There is another door right over there, and keep your hands off me" DD said. Everyone looked at him then the seniors. The big one name Rex, the former star of the football team and strongest senior walked up to him. "Move it! Unless you want some trouble" Rex said grabbed him and moved him. "I'm not in the mood right now for someone like you" he said punching him and pushing him to the side. DD fell on the ground but got up right away, "DD are you alright?" Marie said. Rex turned started walking towards the doors then DD jumped on the wall and turned so he could kick Rex and cause him to fall back on his butt on the ground. Rex and everyone were shocked but the seniors all turned and were ready to fight. The principle came and opened the door. Everyone acted like nothing happened, DD walked past them and picked up his stuff while the seniors went in.

"DD, they are going to rat you out and you'll be in trouble," Eddy said. DD laugh, "They wouldn't, in fact they can't" DD said. "Explain it to us later bro?" Kevin said. The group went in and went to their classroom to check in and went to their classes. People would turn and look at DD and to his surprise they gave him thumbs up or a pat on the back. During lunch, everyone wanted to sit or chat with him. DD had to act like he was sitting outside just to get people away from him. His friends showed up and sat down with him "Alright then, Explain why you're not in trouble or why you're not scared?" Kevin said. DD laughed for a minute and then got serious, "fine I'll tell you then" DD said.

"The reason why they won't tell because of two reason pride and revenge" he said. Everyone leaned in closer, "How so?" Marie said. "Well first, they lost their star fame so they hate us, but when I changelled their power outside they had to respond."DD said. "Cause and effect, I cause them to loss power and respect the effect is they want it back" DD said. "That explains why they want revenge but not the reason why they didn't say anything." Eddy said. DD put his food down, "pride, if they told on me then they will look weak and all the respect that they want back will be gone" DD said. DD swallowed his sandwiches in a one bite and bite into a milk carten and drained it. Everyone look confused at him for a second but laughed. Everyone cleaned up their lunches and went to their class, but DD stayed behind. He was worried because of the daydream and his actions. DD left after a minute and went to his class. Later that day after school was the concert.
