Chapter 5

Crack in the Soul

After an hour or two Kevin got up,

“Alright, we’re going to get ready since it starts in an hour” Kevin said. No one moved and wasn’t happy because they don’t get to relax or hangout as much as they use to. “Come on guys! This is the semi finals, we have a chance to go to the finals for once and this is how we react!” DD said getting up. “He’s right, All of us might not be able to play, but we can cheer and root for them all the way!” Marie said standing next time him. “If we win, we win as a team!” Eddy said putting his hand in. Everyone put their hands in and at the same time yelled win. The guys went and got change and as the clock was getting set the game was getting ready to start. People from all over came to see this game. The reef went to both teams and said he want a clean game. Both teams shuck hands went to their places.

“Ladies and Gentlemen! Boys and Girls of all ages! This is the semi final of the state finals! Both teams have a chance to advance to the finals and take home the big trophy. There was a wave of claps and cheers.

“We have to the Orange and black tiger from the Park School”

the park school fans cheered and clap showing their support. They had a song play as each character was called on the field.

“Our rookie, the red and yellow Hawks from the Phoenix School”

The crowd of fans cheered and claps, Bands played music and caveat was going everywhere. Since The Hawks had the won the coin toss they get ball first. DD gets the ball and was able to score the first touch down. After that the field was set so both sides were fighting to win. When one team made a touch down, the other would make two. If one got fouled the other team returns the favor. By half time the score was 40-38. The Park school was up by two points and everyone was tired. The crowd was cheering loud to get the Phoenix school pumped. DD was tried since he made about half of the goals and was able to defend while giving the plays plus getting fouled a lot.

“You guys have this!” the couch said. “Keep it up guys, remember! Don’t give up and play until the end!” Kevin said. The team cheered, and looked at DD. The Krankers were close to the fence and say DD. “What’s wrong DD? Will he be ok?” Marie asked running towards him after jumping the fence. DD was still panting and on his hands and knees. “He pushed himself to far and is exhausted.” Kevin said. “Have him sit out” Eddy said. Everyone looked at eddy, “at least until he can move and breath without problem.” Eddy said. The game started and for about five minutes the other team was able to get three more touch down. DD was watching and with every move there was a pulse traveling through his body, going faster and faster. DD got up, “let me go in, just one more round”. DD said grabbing his helmet. The coach looked at him and nodded.  DD jogged to the field and got into position. “Down set hut! Someone said passing the ball back. At that moment DD felt the pulse again and run at the person with the ball and took them down. Everyone was surprise by his speed. They set up again but took four steps back. This time they guarded DD before saying hut. The pulse come back and DD reacted. DD charged at the people and was able to get by them but the ball as already going over their heads. DD was going to stop then he jumped and turned and got the ball. He land and was able to get pass everyone for a touch down. With the field goal they needed four more goals before tied.

The team sent the ball back and ran towards the other end as Park caught the ball. DD felt the pulse get faster and faster and has breathing started to copy. He ran down to the other end but didn’t go for the person who caught the ball. DD went for the person behind him because number 5 caught the ball but threw back to block DD while he took off. However he threw it to soon and DD was there and caught and made a quick touch down. Then a goal kick put the rookies behind with 2 points only and ten minutes left of the game. The rookies kicked the ball back and DD was getting ready to run but felt a great pain shoot threw his right arm and cause him to fall down. Everyone stopped to look but DD waved for them to go on. DD got up and rejoins the team to stop the Parks from getting a first down and got the turn over. DD got in front to block and the team was able to move towards the touch down before the pain shoot threw DD arm and cause him to trip into the touch down line but the Park team tackled him and crushed his arm. DD let out a scream of pain and pushed everyone off of him.
