Ch.2 Too late

So later that evening, while Lucas and Josh waited to go to the college, they decided to hang outside of 'Topanga's' for a bit when Farkle and Zay came up to them.

"So Josh" Farkle said "Did you handle the news well?"

"What?" Josh said.

"Oh come on, you didn't think we saw the whole thing from the back of the cafe did you?"

Josh hesitated.

"Well to answer your question" Lucas said "He didn't take it very well."

"Oh really?" Zay grinned at Josh.

"In fact" Lucas added "He's actually planning on going to the college-".

But before he could finish, Josh quickly put his hand over his mouth.

"The college buffet" Josh quickly said as he tried to hide his nervousness "That is not at the college Maya is going to."

Farkle gave a look of doubt as he turned to Lucas.

"Is he lying?" he asked as Lucas nodded as he moved Josh's hand away.

"So what are you really planning on doing Josh?" Farkle asked.

Knowing that he was caught, Josh decided to tell.

"Lucas and I are going to the college hang out Maya is going to" he confessed with a sigh.

"I knew it!" Zay exclaimed as he pointed to Josh "Busted!"

"So you're going even though you weren't invited?" Farkle asked him.

"Pretty much."

"Why?"

Josh hesitated.

"You're gonna tell them or do you want me?" Lucas asked "Cause I can tell them everything."

Josh gave a sigh "I'm going because of Maya."

"Aha!" Zay exclaimed as he pointed at Josh "You're jealous aren't you?"

"Jealous?" Josh said trying to hide his guilt.

"He mostly worried" Lucas smirked "He's worried that he'll loose Maya to some college boys."

"Ooooooooo" Farkle and Zay grinned as Josh rubbed his head.

"Well I don't blame him" Zay said "I know how college guys are like, they're hunky, they're smart,-".

"They're monsters" Josh added.

"You're really worried that Maya will fall for some college guy?" Farkle asked.

"I don't know" he sighed "I mean, it could happen."

"Dude, we all know Maya likes you, she's been crushing on you for a long time, and you both agreed that later when you're both older you'll finally go out."

"Yeah man" Zay agreed "You really think she's gonna fall for another guy?"

"I wont know until I find out, and that's why I'm going to that hang out."

"But what if you get caught?" Farkle asked.

"I'll figure something out, but I really do want to go, I really don't want to loose Maya."

At that point everyone gave small smiles.

"Wow" Farkle said amused "I gotta say, you're pretty romantic."
