DunKim SongShot- The Scientist

Hey guys! Look at me, actually updating this old thing again. I got really inspired because I heard the song "The Scientist" by Coldplay on Pandora today, and it all kinda clicked in my brain. So, I hope you will enjoy this thing. And if you haven't heard the song, I highly recommend it. Or any Coldplay for that matter. The song belongs to Coldplay and that's that, so here we go!

I failed.

That's it. I failed Kim. I didn't fix the flux. The Doctor was right. We couldn't change the future he showed us. We got distracted by our cool superhero suits and our new scientific endeavors. But, we didn't start working on the flux until it was way to late.

She turned into a monster. A flux monster. She went insane. It was over from the moment it started.

"KIM!" I scream up to her, her fluxy tentacles everywhere.

"Duncan Jones, the man who failed to save a girl he promised to save. He won't even be able to save himself. He's a stupid idiot, and he's worthless." She shouts out loud, and I turn and see all of the other behind me. None of us could do anything.

"KIM! KIM, I LOVE YOU!!! DON'T DO THIS!!" I cry, tears running down my face.

"YOU?! You ignorant idiot! YOU NEVER LOVED ANYONE!" She screeches and everything is fluxy. All of it. Kim disappears, but not before she shoots me with something.

You see, I'm in Azkabang. Yeah, I know. Crazy. Except it has a top on it. I've tried everything to escape. To get out. But it's all locked up. I can't get out. There's no escape for me.

I've been here for years, it feels like. The flux on me hasn't moved all that much though. My right arm is covered to the elbow, and the bottom part of the right side of my face is purple. But that's it really.

All I can think about is Kim.

How I loved her secretly for a long time, and I was to dumb to even tell her. Everything may have been different. I could have fixed my stupid excuse for a life if I had maybe just told her.

"Hey Duncan. Do you remember when we first met? When I fell into that ridiculous fountain of yours?" Kim asks me as we lay up on the hill, and I smile.

"Yeah. In a way, Sips and Sjin blowing you up was a pretty great thing. It led you to me." I remark and she punches my arm gently.

"Yeah... The start of our beautiful friendship." She says, and I feel my sadness grow inside of me.

"Friendship."

Oh, let's go back to the start

All I wanted was to go back. To start over. To maybe save her life. To tell her I love her. Back then, it was so much simpler. I could stop her from ever falling in the flux.
