I dropped Renée off at her house and then I went home. When I arrived the coffee shop on the ground floor, it was just about closing time. The regulars that sit near the window on the far right side was helping my mom clean up as usual. They greeted me as soon as I walked through the door.

"Hey, there she is! It's little Roxanne!" Howard, is a middle aged chocolate man who wears square glasses was sort of a "ladies' man." He's always trying to hit on my mom. But the only way to get to her is through the kids. And if you can't get through us, there was no way she was dating you.

It was Friday. And so he wore his pale blue polo shirt, blue jeans and white gym shoes just to impress my mother. Her favorite colors is any shade of blue and red. And sometimes orange. So Howard figured, if he wears her favorite colors, my mom would finally look his way. But it will never work.

"Stop it, before she bites you." Terri Lane is a 40 year old Asian policewoman. She comes here everyday on her breaks just to get away from her partner, James. She says that this is the only coffee shop that doesn't have annoying men who tries to show out and talk about their "cases."

She teases me a lot about my male bashing and hating routine. And she also believes that one day she's gonna find me a boyfriend.

"Hi Terri. Hi Howard. Hi Gabby. Hi Shawn." I said. Gabby and Shawn came and gave me a big hug. These two are newly weds. Gabby aka Gabriella Tuner, is a stunning red haired blue eyed, advice columnist. She works for Heatherfield's daily field newspaper.

She always gave her advice on love. But she never found love herself. Her best friend was Shawn Ranger.  He is a nerdy black hair brown eyed editor. And he was deeply in love with Gabby. They meet here, in the coffee shop—everyday to brainstorm some ideas. Then one day I had enough of them dancing around their feelings and I told them just to go for it.

They have been thanking me ever since. "Welcome sweetie," Gabby says as she pulls away and puts her red hair behind her ear. "Thanks." I said. "We got something for ya to read." Shawn says. He reached in his backpack and brought out the book that Shawn always wanted to write. It was called The Adventures of Yin.

Yin was a mouse that Shawn use to have back in New York. His grandparents were Japanese and they use to watch a tv show about a mouse. Shawn loved it and on his 8th birthday, his grandfather gave him a grey mouse. Shawn called the mouse Yin and had great times together until Yin died.

I told him after he marries Gabby, I'll read his bestseller. "Wow, so this is the story huh?" I asked. "Yep. And we were going to give it to you for free. But, your mom insisted on paying for it." Shawn says. "I'll start on it tonight." I promised. Shawn smiled brightly and nodded. Gabby told me that his autograph was in the inside of the yellow book cover.

I sat the book on the book self near the cash register. And secretly casted a little spell to send itself to my room for later.

I helped cleaned up and closed up shop when everyone left. I headed up the stairs to the kitchen to see if there was any leftovers from dinner. But to my surprise, dinner was just about to be served!

My mom, who sits at the head of the table, was wearing her red renaissance robe with the golden belt with the Raven crest on it. That means something important has happened in the magical realm.

My brothers and sisters were also wearing their colored robes as well. I swallowed hard. The situation must be serious if everyone is wearing their robes. As I walked in, there was deep hush and all eyes were on me. I bit my lip and anxiously approached the table."What's up?" I asked nervously. "Take a seat dear. I have something to tell you." Mom said.
