✖️I've been longing for daisies to push through the floor. I wish plant life would grow all around me, so I won't feel dead anymore.✖️
Movies? Too many people, and too cliche. Brunch? We're not housewives. Zoo? Too many people.
Dan fell back onto his plush bed, throwing his arms over his face.
Ugh. This shouldn't be this hard.
He flipped over, breathing in the detergent scent from his checked comforter.Dan had spent the last hour or so agonizing over what seemed like a crucial decision.
He was going to take Phil on a date. A real, proper, regular couple date. The balloon left Phil starry-eyed and dazed, but it wasn't enough. There wasn't ever enough to give when it came to Phil.
The only problem was figuring out where to take him.
I know what I should do... But I really don't want to.
"Ughhhh," Dan intoned out loud, sitting up and grabbing his phone off the nightstand.
Please let Chris pick up, please let Chris pick up...
"Hello?"
"Hi, PJ. I-I need your help. Or Chris' help, since you probably don't want t-"
"I'll help. What is it?"
Dan was taken aback. He hadn't expected PJ to be at all amiable after their last conversation.
"It's about Phil, of course. I want to take him on a date, a proper one. I want to ask him out the right way, no surprises. I just... Can't figure out where to take him."
"I have to say two things, Dan. To answer your question, do exactly that. A proper date. Candlelit dinner and all that, fancy waiters and expensive food. I can tell you with complete confidence that Phil will positively swoon for that.
The second thing is that I don't think you should do it, unless you plan to tell him. You'll have him completely if you do this, and I think you know it."

Dan was nervous. Very, very nervous. Feet shifting, clothes tugging, holding-back-vomit nervous.Despite the fact that he'd already come onto Phil in the heaviest way during the balloon ride, this scared him much more.
This was real- and on top of that, Dan was doubtful if it was the right thing to do.
Despite all this, he knew that he had to do this. For himself or for Phil? Another doubt that added to his nervousness.
The door he was standing at had become familiar over the past blissful week, but it now seemed ominous.
Dan took a deep breath, and knocked."Oh, hi Dan! I didn't know you were coming over today."
Phil looked Dan up and down, his expression becoming more quizzical by the second."Erm... What's with the flowers?"
"Phil, I want to ask you out. On-on a proper date. Tonight."Dan relaxed a bit when he saw Phil's face light up at the words.
"Of course," Phil breathed, "of course I'll go on a date with you."
And with that statement, it was real, and Dan was ready to faint but so, so, glad all at once.
