Haley's POV:
I really couldn't believe that my best friend had dragged me to a Before You Exit concert! I mean, really? I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited, which I REALLY was! Sure, I lived with them for over two months but... Oh man! Here it comes again! That stupid nostelgic feeling. As I was saying, I was a fan of theirs before I even knew them and it was as a fan that I came to the concert. I felt pretty excited and was fangirling throughout the car ride with Linds, while we also belted out lyrics from their album. We had third row seats, which meant pretty good view AND Linds had managed to get backstage passes! Oh, how I loved that girl!
I scanned the place and it was jam packed! I smiled at the thought of what the boys had achieved. I really was proud of them. I was pulled out of my thoughts as the lights around the Center and the stage dimmed and the boys came running out. Screams enveloped them and I couldn't help but join in. I grinned at their changed looks. Toby had grown taller than before and was now the same height as Riley, Thomas's hair was shorter than but still a buzz cut, Connor and Riley looked the same and Braiden had also cut his hair. My eyes lingered on him as he started playing his guitar for their first song. I remembered that time in the recording studio, when he sat next to me and played that very guitar. My grin faded into a small smile. One of my wishes did include getting the chance to spend more time with Braiden. I wondered if he still remembered what had happened.
It felt incredible seeing the boys again, even if it was from a distance. I felt tears forming in my eyes and before I could blink them away, they fell down my cheeks. I quickly glanced at Lindsey and, thankfully, she hadnt noticed them. I sniffed (credits to the loud music that it went unnoticed) and wiped them clean with my sleeve. At that very moment, Lindsey glanced at me and I grinned at her. She grinned back and turned back to the concert. I did enjoy the concert myself but I was more focused on the boys themselves than their already-too-fimiliar songs. After 2 hours of screaming, singing along and dancing, the crowd quiet down A BIT as the boys bowed for the final time and ran back stage.
"Time to head backstage!" Lindsey shouted over all the noise, her eyes shining in excitement.
"Yeah!" I said, nodding my head. We started moving with the crowd and entered the huge group that was heading backstage. After waiting in line for what seemed like an hour, we reached the entrance and upon showing the security guard our passes, went inside. We were surrounded by A LOT squealing girls. How did they manage to squeal after 2 hours of screaming? I felt that my voice was almost gone!
"Lets go to Meet and Greet?" Lindsey asked and I suddenly felt nervous.
"Uhh... H-how about you go and meet them. You get an autograph for me. I feel like sticking around here," I stuttered out. Thankfully, Linds was too excited to protest and after a quick nod, left me to wander and that is EXACTLY what I did. I weaved through all the girls and walked to the area closest to the stage. Just as I was about to peek at the stage, I heard a male and feamle talking. I frowned. They sounded SO fimilar! I turned around in curiousity and froze. The male and female were... Breathe, Haley... They were none other than Mr and Mrs. McDonough. Before I knew what I was doing, I found my legs leading me towards them. I walked upto them unnoticed (credits to the swarms of girls) and hesitently tapped lightly on Mrs. McDonough's shoulder. She turned and gasped.
"Ye-- HALEY!!" she squealed, suddenly taking me into a big, motherly hug. I chuckled and hugged her back. She wouldn't have let go of me if it weren't for Mr. McDonough.
"H-haley! What are y-you doing here?" she asked me, suddenly out of breath. I smiled.
"I live here now. PERMANENTLY." I replied, feeling as happy as I did on the day of my adoption.
"Y-you got adpoted, dear?" I grinned and nodded, loving the fact that she called me 'dear'.
"OH THATS WONDERFUL!!" she squealed and hugged me again.
"Oh my boys! Do they know you're here? Oh, they would be so surprised and..." Mrs. McDonough said in one breath and I placed my hamds on her shoulders to calm her down.
"Mrs. McDonough, they dont know I'm here... Yet," I told her and upon taking a deep breath, she calmed down and nodded.
"Make sure you meet them before you ex... Haha! Leave the Center," she informed me, laughing at the fact that she almost said 'before you exit the building'. I grinned at her.
"There is NO way that I'd leave without meeting them," I reassured her and after giving her yet another hug, I waved goodbye and went over to the Meet and Greet area, where Lindsey was waiting for me.
"Hey, where'd you go?" she asked. I whacked my brain.
"Oh, uhh... Sorry, got a bit lost while staring at the stage. Do you know how huge it is? Come on, I'll show you!" I replied, thanking my brain for the answer. I led her to the stage area and we peeked through and stared in awe.
"See what I meant?" I asked her.
"Yeeeaaahhhh," she replied, staring at the stage with her jaw hanging. I laughed at her and we went back inside. I hadn't seen the boys till then but all of a sudden, I didn't think I could handle my emotions if I DID see them! As we moved through the backstage, Lindsey kept chattering about how great the boys were and all and I couldn't help but smile. Not only at her chattering but at all the old memories coming in my head. I hadn't realised how much I actually missed the boys till that moment! We saw the VIP group come out and I gasped slightly at the fact that I was VERY close to being spotted by Riley and Thomas (who were leading the group) but thankfully, I blended in with the crowd before they could see me. PHEW! I smiled slightly at the sight of them and watched as they and the group disappeared further backstage.
"HEY! What are you doing?!?!" I jumped at Lindsey shouting at me. I looked at her, confused and she huffed.
"What?" I asked. She grabbed my hand and started pulling me after the group. I panicked and yanked my hand back.
"Now what are YOU doing?" I asked loudly.
"Following the group!" she replied, making a 'DUH!' face.
"Now come on!" she said, grabbing my hand again and I face-palmed with my free hand but let her drag me. We reached the place where the group had now dispersed and I injoyed the fact that Lindsey was having difficulty dragging me. I laughed at her when she let me go and was out of breath. She caught me laughing and hit me on the arm, causing me to laugh louder.
"HALEY! Stop laughing at meee!" she whined and pouted. I nodded and stopped laughing but kept grinning at her. She grinned back and I turned my attention to the crowd and scanned it for the boys. Finally, I saw them and grinned. They were dispersed. Thomas and Riley stood individually talking to some girls and Braiden, Toby and Connor stood together, also talking to girls. Then I saw that they started arguing and Connor poked Toby, causing him to mess Connor's hair in return. Connor yanked his head back in reflex and I took this as my chance. I nudged Lindsey and grinned.
"Hey Linds, watch this," I said to her, not giving her the chance to reply.
"YO MCDONOUGH!! LIGHTEN UP!" I shouted towards the boys and was aware of all the faces that turned to me and of Lindsey's horrified face but I couldn't have cared less about all that. My focus was taken by the reaction I got from the boys and I grinned again.
