Oh Adelia, what are you doing to me?

   "Who was that woman?" I asked her, wanting to know some answers. I had had enough of being left in the dark.

"My mother" she whispered. HER MOTHER!

"What sort of mother does that to her child?" I screamed and I saw her flinch away. "Sorry,that's just out of order."

"Where are you taking me?" She asked.

"Well not back there, that's for sure" I told her " I'm taking you back to mine, where you will be safe. You can stay in the guest room and borrow some of my clothes, I'm sure they will fit you"

"Thanks, it means a lot" she whispered. "Sorry for snapping earlier it's just I didn't want you to find out about my mother."

"It's okay, I understand" I said sympathetically. The rest of the journey was filled with silence as she gazed out the window and I concentrated on the road. Soon we pulled up in my driveway. I grabbed her hand and looked into her eyes.

"It's going to be okay you know" I told her "I'm here for you."

"But you've only just met me" she spoke in a hushed voice.

"I don't care, nobody deserves to live like this" I said. We sat staring into each other for what seemed like forever but was only a few seconds before she broke the eye contact.

I took her in my house and into the kitchen.
"Hey mum and Tyler, this is Adelia she will be staying with us for a while due to some family issues." I explained giving them a look saying I will tell them more later.

"Hi Adelia, I'm Tracy, Jessica's mum, make yourself at home" she said as she smiled at her from across the kitchen.

"What's up, I'm Tyler her older brother, don't worry I not a douche like all the other good looking guys." He smiled.

"No just as vain as them" I muttered chuckling. Adelia just smiled timidly back at them before I took her upstairs to her room.

"Right, this is your room. Bathroom is next door, mums opposite you, I'm next to her and then Tyler's next to me. Let me know if you need anything, get some rest and I will bring your dinner up to you later." I told her as she looked around.

I started to leave when I heard her call out "thanks" she said, " I'm going to try and sleep now".

"Okay, bye" I said as I left, heading back to my own room.

I was sitting on my bed with my headphones in listening to I hate you I love you when my brother, Tyler, came in and plonked down on my bed. He was older than me by two years, which means he is 19 and we are very close. Our mum and dad divorced when I was 14 but they are still friends and we are all close in one big family. I live with mum but I usually stay at dads on Fridays and Saturdays because he is always busy with work during the week.

"Hey little sis" he said as he lied down next me with his arms behind his head.

"Hey big bro, what's up?" I asked as I took my earphones out, I love him and all, but he interrupted my song. Typical!

"Not much, mum sent me to get you coz dinner is gonna be ready in about five minutes" he told me.

"Cool, what we got?" I asked him whilst I was putting my earphones back in my bedside draw and getting off the bed.

"Sausage and Mash, is Adelia joining us? " he stated as he licked his lips, I don't blame him, my mouth was watering as well, mum is an amazing cook.

"Oohh nice, and no she's sleeping but I will bring her up some, you coming or what?" I questioned since he was showing no sign of leaving anytime soon.

"Yh, let's go" he said diving off the bed nearly knocking me off my feet.

We all sat down at the dining table, I was opposite mum, by the door with Tyler next to me.

"So, Jess how was school?" Mum asked as she picked up her fork and looked at me.

"Fine, I met Adelia" I told them, we were a very open family but I didn't wanna tell them everything.

"How'd you meet her?" My mother asked looking up at me, taking a break from eating her food.

" I stopped her getting beat up" I explained bluntly. I sort of didn't wanna talk about this because I can't get her out of my head and I feel like this situation is a bit more private.

"Oh my god" my mother gasped, "is she okay?"

"Yeah, well she has some bruises but the nurse said I saved her from getting more major injuries" I explained.

"Now, that's all cleared up, she is hot" My brother asked and I almost chocked on my food. Should I tell them or shouldn't I? They're gonna find out sooner or later.

"Yeah...yeah she is" I stated.

"Do I have a chance or is she more into girls like you?" He asked, clearly meaning is she straight or a lesbian. Everyone knows I'm a lesbian, it's not a secret.

"I don't know...she ran before I could really talk to her and we haven't really talked about that yet" I muttered " and I can't stop thinking about her" I whispered but nobody heard me which was good.

  When I finished my dinner, I took a plate up for Adelia. I gently nudged her and she started to grumble.
" Your dinner is on the bedside table" I whispered.

"Thanks" she moaned. Omg she has to stop doing that.

I went back to my room and had a shower, I changed into an oversized black GAP hoodie with my knickers. As I was about to turn my bedside light off, there was a light tap at the door and somebody peeped their head around my door. I couldn't see their face, but the silhouette from the light coming from the hall was of a guy so I'm guessing it was my brother.

"Yeah?" I whispered as I propped myself up on my elbows to see him better. He stepped in and closed the door behind him and sat next to me on my bed.

"This girl Adelia, do you like her?" He asked which shocked me, he must of heard me whispering to myself about not getting her out of my head.

I was not expecting that.

"Yeah...I think so" I whispered averting my eyes to the duvet.

"Don't let her ignoring you go to your head, she was probably just embarrassed or shy, give her some time and she might like you back if she doesn't already. Also, even if she's straight, I have no doubt you will turn her" he explained chuckling at the end.

"Yeah..." I sighed, not really believing him. I am a tough girl, but I do still have emotions.

"And trust me, if she doesn't, she has made the worst mistake of her life" he told me as he kissed my head and turned my bedside lamp off.

"Ty?" I whispered just as he reached the door. " I love you"

"I love you too little sis, and you know you can talk to me anytime." He said as he left, closing the door behind him leaving me surrounded in darkness.

  Oh Adelia, what are you doing to me? I haven't felt like this before.
