Prologue 1° Strange Spirits

The beginning is a deciding fate

"Woah"

I thought as I looked at the gapping hole right next to my feet, not really thinking of the risk of falling in.

The mountain I was currently in was the source of many disappearances over the years, and I think I just found out the culprit for at least a few kids out of the lot.

I wasn't here to solve their case, I'm not really an adult, and frankly, I wouldn't know how.

I was just at this mysterious mountain that happens to be behind my house so that I can shoot some different videos for my blog.

My blog was nothing special really, but a lot of people did follow it, so I always tried to keep up with their expectations.

Which today, was mystery.

I pulled out my slick, black phone and turned it landscape, so I could get the full picture. And then pressed record.

"Hello Buddies! It's me! And I'm back for another video for 'Unanswered Questions!'. Today I will be discovering the secret on top of Mount. Ebott, trying to find the reason for so many of the disappearances that have become more usual as time passes! Wish me luck guys!"

I turn the camera around the beautiful mountain.

Making sure to not let the enormous hole into the frame, wanting to save it for last. As soon as I was done with the scene I turned the camera towards me, and with a smile cut of the video.

Sometimes I even wonder why I did these blogs, because unlike the famous ones, I don't get paid.

It's not like I'm in need of money though, I'm not an adult yet, so I have the pleasure of not having to work, but it would still be cool if I got paid....

Before I could trip on something and fall into the crater only a few steps ahead of me, I decided to step a few feet away from the whole, and set up camp a little far away.

I didn't really want to wake up in the morning and fall into a bottomless pit.

But thats just me.

I could tell by the way the Sun was lazily stepping down from its spot above my head, that it was close to night time.

And after snapping a few pictures and enjoying the sunset, I begin to set up my camp with the aid of three different lanterns.

I then found out that waiting for the sunset was a bad idea.

When it got dark, it got dark.

But even with the visual impairment, I still managed to set up the tent and my sleeping pallet pretty quickly,

Swish~

I woke up with a start, my dream fading from memory as I sat up in the cramp tent. The wind was howling quite loudly and almost knocked my tent over.

'What is this? We never get such strong winds...' I thought to my self as I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes.

Suddenly I feel something grab my shoulder, and as soon as it was there it was gone.

Startled I grabbed my bag and hurried out of the tent, my breath fast and uneven.

"Wh- Who's there?!" I yell, trying to sound confidant. Though the loud winds muffled most of my yell.

It started to rain. The fast pellets of water felt like painful bullets on my exposed skin.

My bare feet were muddy and stuck with thorns as I walked back wards from the tent. Frightened of what ever was in there.

My visibility was low, and my head was clouded with confusion and fear.

I heard growling right behind me, and, not bothering to look, I ran diagonally, as fast as I could.

I didn't notice the bottomless hole from a while ago a few feet ahead of me, but what I did notice was when my foot didn't meet the muddy, hard ground, but empty air.

When I started to fall, instinct kicked in and I grab the bag from my back and held it under me, hopping it would help break the fall, so that if I managed to survive I would have received fewer injuries.

But then again... That's was only if I managed to survive the actual fall...
