October 1483

“Trick or Treat. If you give me what I want, I’ll be nice. If you don’t, I will curse you.”

Elizabeth Woodville would not budge even when the guards approached her menacingly. Richard was staring avidly at her daughter, and Elizabeth knew that he was powerless now. Anne knew she had to do something. She could not let that evil woman curse her step children. Or her own son, Edward. She had already killed Isabel and George. No more would die. And she hated the lustful look that Richard was giving that witch child.

“Go back to the hell you came from, and take your daughter with you!” Anne bellowed. “You think you can walk in here and ruin the celebrations? You think you can walk in here and curse my children? You think you can walk in here and take my crown? Well, you are wrong Elizabeth. For you have no one and nothing to support your claim. No one cares about your witchcraft. Tonight, God will guard us against you and your daughter. LEAVE!”

“You have made a grave mistake in trying to protect your husband’s bastard children…”

“LEAVE! Run back to Sanctuary. Or go back to your hell but do not plight us with your greed.” Anne was in front of her now. Despite the height difference, Anne felt now her superior.

“Or we’ll execute you now. My husband makes quick decisions. Your husband’s best friend stepped out of line and look what happened to him. GO!”

And shockingly, Elizabeth left without another word.
