The heat of the sun is blazing like fire on my skin - luckily as a vampire, it's the daylight ring that even keeps me from getting a real sunburn, that way neither of us need sun cream. At the same time, the wind howls and gushes a pleasant breeze over the both of us, thus cooling off all of the overly cooking heat that's shining down from the sky. Elijah's even wearing a thin white shirt under his removed blazer.

I'm more dressed for the season of summer:

denim shorts, suede shoes and a black, short-sleeved vest top.

"So what brings you all the way out here?" I ask Elijah who's far drowning in the sunshine.

"I could ask you the same thing." he shields himself from the cannon and fires straight back.

I'm starting to feel it all again. The everlasting circle of one question and one throwback after the next. I suppose that it's only suitable if I'm the first to answer - after all, it was me who suggested that we maybe try and get to know each other all over again. Right now, I don't know how else to tell him that I was maybe looking for a distraction from the other men in my life and how much I wanted to escape and just be my own person, alongside Caroline, who keeps blowing me off repeatedly for some unusual reasons.

"I had nothing better to do." I answer shading my eyes with my hand to get a good view of him.

"Neither did I." he's just messing with me, now.

"You're just being stubborn as always." I remark.

"You got me, no I'm out here with Klaus, said he had business here, while I was trying to sort out a few miniscule matters of old business."

Klaus? That must explain why Caroline's been avoiding me, I never expected to hear about her and him - last year she'd had what was the most terrific holiday of her life, I guess she had a run in more or less similar to Elijah and me and now she's having to hide it from me as an excuse for her to run away and see him without me knowing. Considering their history with each other, it would seem as though love rewrote the past and gave them a new perception of how in love they were with each other.
