Kenta dressed himself extra quick this morning, and why wouldn't he. Today was the day that he would be signed up for Konoha Academy. Sure, that didn't mean he would get in but at least the time had finally come.

"Kenta! Are you ready?" asked his mom from the living room.

"How ironic, my mom is taking me to begin my life as a ninja!" thought Kenta, who could barely contain himself.

"KENTA!" exclaimed Mara, his mom sure got worked up in a hurry.

"Sure thing mom, I'll be downstairs in just a minute!" said Kenta, grabbing his jacket on the way downstairs.

His father met him by the door. "Kenta, be sure to be polite and if you see anyone your age go ahead and try to make friends." His father said. Kenta gave a nod.

"We should be home by noon." said his mom, and they were off.

...

The Academy was such a nice place, and why shouldn't it be since the Hokage did most of his work there.

Kenta's mom was sitting across a leaf chunin at a desk while Kenta sat outside waiting for them to get done with all the paperwork. There were other kids but Kenta was intimidated to try and talk to any of them. He didn't know any of the kids here but everyone was already talking to each other and forming their own groups. That's when he noticed a girl sitting all by herself also. He guessed now would be the best time to try and get to know someone. So he stood up and walked his way over to her.

She blushed whenever he made his way over.

"He's kinda cute." The girl thought.

"Hi, what's your name?" asked Kenta. The girl smiled and blushed a darker red.

"My names Rin Nakishima, what's yours?" asked Rin.

Character introduction:
Rin Nakishima, 10
Long black hair
Black eyes
Black t shirt with a long right sleeve
Black shorts with a long left leg
Black shoes

"What a pretty name." thought Kenta.

"My name is Kenta Kato it's nice to meet you." said Kenta, then all of a sudden Rin's blush and smile completely vanished.

"Kato. Aren't you rich?" asked Rin, and not in a very nice tone either.

"Um, y-yes." replied Kenta. This wasn't the first time his wealth caused someone to act this way towards him.

... flashback ...

"Wow, this food was so good." exclaimed Kenta. He and his family had just finished a meal at a restaurant in town.

"Yes, I have to admit I didn't expect much but this was definitely above any expectations that I had." said Kazo. The waitress that had been working their table approached them, she must have overheard what they has said and expected the two to be done.

"Are you ready for your check... Mr. Kato?" asked the waitress. Kazo looked at Kenta who gave a cheerful nod.

"Yes, thank you." replied Kazo, taking the checkbook. "I'll be going to pay this now Kenta." Kenta knew what this meant and jumped out of the booth where they had been eating.

"Wait, Dad, should we leave a tip?" asked Kenta. His father simply nodded and threw about 100 Ryo on the table.

Kenta ran outside the restaurant and waited for his father who had to pay their bill.

That's when Kenta saw waitress come up to his father and throw the Ryo in his face. "That's odd." Kenta thought. The restaurant owner took the waitress to the back and Kazo came outside.

"Father, what was that about?" Kenta asked. His father just kept walking and Kenta walked with Kazo.

"Kenta... sometimes even if you mean nothing by your actions people will take what you do as a sign of flaunting your wealth in front of them." said Kazo.

...

So Kenta definitely knew where this attitude was coming from, although he hadn't done anything to show that he was like that at all.

"So tell me, how does someone who doesn't ever have to do anything for himself expect to succeed as a ninja?" asked Rin. This question made Kenta very angry, he hadn't done one thing to this girl. Although he knew better than to fire back as his father had adviced countless times.

"Well actually, I have trained ever since I was 8 years old so I know how to take care of myself." said Kenta, this only seemed to upset Rin.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot that those with money can afford such a luxury." retorted Rin. Kenta couldn't stand being talked to like this when he didn't warrant it at all.

"I didn't mean to be rude, if you'd like I could probably talk my mentor into teaching you at my lessons too." said Kenta, but sure enough this didn't help either.

"Oh sure. I'll allow myself to be looked down on right under the noses of the wealthy." said Rin, Kenta usually just kept himself away from people like this but something about Rin intrigued him.

"I'm going to make a promise to you right now, that I vow to show you that there's more to me than the money I come from." stated Kenta. Rin noticed the seriousness of Kenta's statement but still refused to budge off her attitude.

"Sure we'll see." She said. That's when Mara came outside of the Academy.

"Kenta, we need to get going." exclaimed Mara.

"See ya around Rin." said Kenta as he took off to his mother. Of course he didn't get a reaction.

"Make a friend Kenta?" asked Mara who seemed to of noticed his previous conversation.

"I think so." replied Kenta.

Well there's chapter 4. I feel like this is a much better chapter than before and I hope you all think the same. Until next time.
