Emily's POV

I look out the window, and I see to familiar figures. One was Charlotte and the other was Damien. I see Charlotte hugging Damien and he pecks her lips. I smirk to myself. So my daughter does like Damien Abernathy.

Damien leaves Charlotte, and she watches him walk away. I mentally jump up and down. Charlotte goes inside our apartment and I look away from the window, and I pretend that I'm doing something.

A moment later Charlotte opens the door to our apartment. She has a little smile on her face. I look at her.

"Welcome home, Charlotte," I say with a smile on my face, "Why so happy all of a sudden?" I pretend not to know about her little kiss with Damien. She shakes her head.

"No reason," she tells me. But the smile is still on her face. I walk up to her.

"Come on, tell me," I say. She looks at me.

"Really it's nothing," she says. I roll my eyes.

"Really, I wouldn't call a kiss from your crush 'nothing'," I tell her. Charlotte looks at me panicked.

"H-How do you know about that?" She asks me with panic in her voice. I put my arm around her shoulders.

"Honey, a mother knows everything," I tell her, "and I kind of saw you too when I was looking out the window," Charlotte laughs. She hugs me, "So do you like Damien?" Charlotte looks at me, she smiles and nods.

"Yeah," She says. I smile.

"Come, you can help me with dinner," I tell her. Charlotte nods. I would hate to say it, but Charlotte is a better cook than me! I mean I can cook but Charlotte is just better at it than me.

While we were making dinner, both Garrett and Adam walk in. I look at them both.

"Oh, welcome boys," I say to them.

"Smells good, Mother," Adam says. I smile.

"Well, your sister helped," I tell them, "I trust you two are staying for dinner?" Garrett nods.

"Of course! We would be even more insane the Joanna the Mad if we didn't," Garrett tells me. I laugh. Charlotte looks at Garrett.

"Wasn't Joanna the Mad the one that married a man known as Philip the Handsome?" Charlotte asks Garrett. Garrett nods.

"Yes, and she was madly in love with him," Garrett says.

"Don't forget, she went really insane after he died," Adam says. Adam was about to say what she did but I stop him.

"Yes, and we don't want to be reminded of what she did to earn her nickname," I say. Adam holds his hands up in surrender, "Charlotte could you fetch your Father, dinner is ready," Charlotte nods, and she leaves the kitchen to get Jacob. I set the table.

After a moment, both Charlotte and Jacob come to the table and we start eating. After about a few minutes later Charlotte looks at me.

"Mama, I saw that you got a letter today," Charlotte says. I look at her and I nod, "who was it from?"

"The letter was from your Uncle Erik," I tell her. Adam looks at me.

"What did it say?" Adam asks me.

"Um, it said that he misses us, and that your Grandfather is becoming forgetful," I tell him. Jacob looks at me.

"How bad is it?" Jacob asks.

"To where Erik has to take over his affairs," I tell him.

"What else did the letter say?" Charlotte asks me.

"Um, that Erik knows about the murders here, and he wants me to stay with him and his wife for a little bit," I tell her. Garrett looks at me.

"I think you should go to Scotland," Garrett tells me. I look at him, "I mean, it would be safer for you there, and I worry about you,"

"Garrett I appreciate your concern, but I'm not leaving when so many others cannot," I tell him.

"Mama, for once I agree with Garrett, I think you should go to Scotland, who knows The Ripper could target you next!" Charlotte says. I see Jacob stiffen in his seat.

"It wouldn't be fair to leave you all here," I tell them. Adam smiles.

"Mother, we will be fine, go to Scotland, spend time with Uncle Erik," Adam tells me, "we can handle The Ripper," I look at Jacob.

"Jacob, what do you think?" I ask him. Jacob looks at me from across the table.

"For your sake, I think you should go, I know that you will be safe there," Jacob says. I nod.

"Fine, I'll leave in two days," I tell them all. Jacob weakly smiles at me.

If everyone else thinks that I will be safe in Scotland then maybe I should go.
