Grey's P.O.V
——————-——-—-—-—-—When Ma and Pa left, Jennifer along with Jack turned around looking at one another and then back at us with sly smirks across their faces.
"Hey Jack what should we have Joan do? Clean the house or cook the meals?"
"How 'bout neither she can't do anything right. She's even scared of the chickens. Let's just have her milk the cows.""But that's the boys job Jack." Joan burst out with tears in her eyes from the things Jack said.
"Don't talk back to us we're in charge here not you." Jen said coldly.
As Jack nodded his head in agreement."What would Pa say if he were hear right now hearing you talk to us in this manor?!" Josh said while Jacob and Jane were hugging Joan to comfort her. (Jacob was the mushiest of all of the boys.)
"Ugh whatever Grey and Jane you'll work in the field" Jennifer said giving up on trying to get her way with trying to boss us around.
"Josh you'll join the girls in the field. And try to make quick work of it. You'll have to double the job time since Frances isn't here." Jack said reminding us of the real reason they were up this early. "And Jacob you'll help me with the live stock."
"Now Joan, you and I will be working in the house preparing the meals, doing the laundry, along with cleaning." Jen said when the two finished setting the plan for the day.
"Alright everyone lets get to work." Jack said while clapping his hands to regain their attention.
"Breakfast won't be ready for a while" Jennifer said.
Soon enough Jane, Jack, Josh, Jake, and I were all running to get to our spots. And just about 3 minutes later even Joan came out but she was going to feed the chickens and I think get the eggs for breakfast.
"Hey Jane, Josh, can you believe those two. Yeah sure Ma and Pa put them in charge but that doesn't mean they can be mean to us. They even made Joan start to cry. They know that she take things hard but then again they probably picked on her first because of that. But I mean really what asses." I say to my two siblings who were only a few yards away.
Jane said replying "I know it's just not fair. I wondering if Ma, Pa and Fran will be home tomorrow."
"I sure do hope so. I don't think I could handle another day alone with the two" Josh said.

Fran's P.O.VThe pain was unbearable I could see my ankle disconnected from the rest of its body. The only thing that was holding it all together was the muscles and skin. My wrist on the other hand (no pun intended) it was just hanging there moving up and down from Ma horse galloping trying to keep up with Pa's. He slowed down while Ma rode up beside him. He looked at me with concern.
"You alright Fran?" He asked me with concern
"What do you think Pa?"I said sternly and sarcastically. "My wrist and ankle are both unattached from the rest of my body. What does that tell you?"
"Okay sorry I asked"
"Bill how much longer is it going to till we get to town" Ma asked Pa
"We probably won't get there till dawn tomorrow if we make camp but if we go all the way through well get there around midnight." Pa said replying to Ma's question.
"We should go through tonight." Ma said

Grey's P.O.VWe finish eating breakfast and we head outside. We all stand there shocked since there was a call of a crow and we see a black cat standing on one our fences with its back arched while hissing at us.
"Kitty" Joan said happily with her arms stretched out starting to run at it.
"NOOOO" Jack screeched with his arm out on the side of him stopping her from running to it. "Don't you know that black cats are bad luck!?"
Jane and I stared at something else. They were dark, black clouds starting to cover the bright sunny sky in a blanket of dark and coldness.
"Hey. Hey guys we should probably stop looking at the cat and hurry up in the field" I said to my siblings
"Why?" Jennifer said
"That's why" I said while pointing at the sky as the air seemed to drop 5 degrees in a second while rubbing my arms from the coolness.
"Right. Here's the plan. Boys you get all the animals in the barn and lock the doors. Girls you will get in the field and start the corn and then we will join you" Said Jack. "What are we all waiting for get to work!"
So with that said we all got to work as fast as we could. The boys finished putting the livestock in the barn while us girls were getting the corn in the baskets. We were running out of them so Jack decided that we should start putting them in the silo. So it was just Josh, Jacob, Jane, Joan and me in the field since Jennifer was also helping Jack by bringing him the baskets and bring the empty baskets to us. We would switch jobs with the two so we could save some energy. Soon it started to snow.
"No, no, no, this can not be happening" I screamed
I along with everyone else were starting to panic.
"We all need to pick up the pace" Josh said
We all nodded in agreement as it kept getting colder.

Greys POVSnow had covered the ground in a white blanket. Snow it's so beautiful but so deadly. It felt like it was 29 degrees fahrenheit. We were all shivering in the cold but we pushed through the the coldness. I'm just wondering how Fran is doing. I'm very scared for her.

Frans POVI woke from my rest on Ma's back because of the coldness that I felt. Then I realized that it was snowing.
