I was woken up by my sister Jane she had tears in her eyes and she looked as if she just had lost apart of her heart.
"Jane? What, whats wrong? Whats going on? Who's scream was that?"
"It's Frances."
"WHAT!! What happened? Where is she?"
"She fell off the loft and broke her arm along with her ankle. Ma and Pa are taking her to town to go to the doctor to get it checked out."
Then Josh butted in and said "Yeah and so we have to start work now and we have to extra to finish her jobs too."
Then when Josh finished Pa called us down from the loft.
"You all are going to have to pitch in around the field till Frances is back on her foot. Jen you'll be in charge of the jobs to give the girls and the food till we get back. Jack you'll be in charge of the jobs to give the boys and feeding the livestock while we're gone." Pa said sternly. "Okay now that that's settled me and your mother are talking Frances to town to see a doctor. See you in a few days."
"Be good, Jennifer and Jack watch after everyone please." Ma said
"Sure thing Ma." Jack said
"Yeah don't worry about a thing we'll be fine the kids are in good hands." Jennifer said while putting her arm around Jack who did the same with a fake, cheesy smile.
Soon after a wave good bye ma and pa were out the door. But when that happened things went terribly wrong.
