This whole week has been a bore. I didn’t do anything exciting. Some nights, Jake would call be and tell me what happened at school, but I wanted to talk to Melinda. She must have forgotten my number or lost it because I specifically told her to call me at night.

Well my mom woke me up in the morning so I could get ready to go to school. Jake told me we could wear free dress and we couldn’t take backpacks. Good. So since it was the last week of school, I was planning on wearing my cutest outfit on Friday, but today I was only going to wear my boot cut jeans with my purple snickers and my Hello Kitty ‘Peace’ shirt. I grabbed my hair in a pony tail, brushed my teeth, put some perfume on and ate some breakfast. I got in the car and left for school.

When I got there, Melinda was the first to greet me. She gave me a hug and said some things in Spanish. As we walked into the school, Jake popped out of nowhere.

“Hey! How’s it going?” Jake greeted me and gave me a hug. Just when he did that, Roy was passing by and stared at him with hate. Wow, he must really like me.

“Oh, I’m doing fine,” I replied, pushing him away.

“Good! Don’t faint on us again, alright?”

                       “He-he, okay.”

“Hey, Selena, I lost your number. Mind giving it to me otravez?” Melinda said.

“Oh! Not at all! Here it is,” I replied taking a note out of my pocket. I wrote it down and handed it to her. She smiled at me and put it back in her pocket.

The bell rang and Jake and I said goodbye to Melinda. We went straight to our class. When I got in there, Mrs. Ginger greeted me with a huge smile on her face. She was probably worried about me. I got to my seat and turned around to save Jake’s seat so no one would sit there while he was calling his mom for something on Mrs. Ginger’s phone.

“Is this seat taken?” Roy said with a smile.

                         “Actually it is. Sorry.”

                         “For who?”

“For Jake, my new best friend.”

“Oh. Okay then, ill just go sit with Samantha, MY new best friend.”

                        “Okay.”

“Okay. But just so you know-“

“Is there a problem here?” Jake interrupted smiling, at me. I think he could tell that Roy got on my nerves.

“No, I was just going to sit down,” Roy stated and left to sit in front of Samantha.

“He annoys you, doesn’t he?” Jake questioned me.
