She stiffens and takes a step back. And it guts him.
"I can't do this." She turns to go.
"Why do I know your name when I can't remember who you are?" His voice is raw with emotion. "Why do I hear your voice in my head telling me that you'll never leave me?"
Her tears fall unchecked. "We loved each other once. And it was everything. But after the accident, you built a life with someone else."
Her next words shatter them both. "I didn't leave you, RJ. You left me."
