"C'mon Lily, we don't want to listen to her nonsense." He furrowed his eyebrows in distress. Kai put an arm around my waist and held me tight. As we were about to leave, he was pulled back. When we spun around we were face to face with Logan and Rachel.
"Why you touching my girl?" Logan asked Kai.
Wait, since when were Logan and Rachel dating? I looked to Kai, waiting for him to say something back but he just stood there motionless.
"You know what, I'll let it go this time, but don't ever bother Rachel again!" Logan told Kai aggressively.
"Don't worry, I wouldn't dare mess with you right?" Kai said mockingly and we left.
We saw Trish waving at us from a table and we walked over. We told the three of them about what happened and they seemed really set off by it.
"So you guys were dating this whole time? I knew it!" Trish exclaimed with joy.
"No, what? That was just..." I didn't know what to say, I looked at Kai and expected an answer for why he said what he said.
"Um sorry, I didn't mean to say that. I wasn't thinking." Kai apologized, but it wasn't really something to be sorry for. Well at least that's what I thought.
"It's ok." I mumbled softly, I felt my cheeks burning up!
"I'll get something to drink." Kai offered and we nodded our heads. Daniel decided to go with him leaving us girls at the table, with Trish and Rosy about to burst out with questions.
"Tell us everything!" Trish exclaimed.
"Every detail!" Rosy emphasized.
"Guys, calm down. He was just sticking up for me and you know how Rachel is." I finished and they looked at me sarcastically.
"Sure." They both stated.
We continued talking then Daniel and Kai came back with our drinks. Daniel was holding two while Kai was struggling to hold the third drink that he tried to grip onto.
"Here you are ladies." Kai gestured. Trish took her drink and didn't wait for anyone else. That's just like her. Daniel sat next to Rosy at our round table while one of Trish's gossip buddies showed up. That left Kai and I to talk to each other.
"Kai, I am really sorry about Rachel." I started playing with my hands and looked at them trying to figure out what to say. "She's the girl that the whole school revolves around and Logan," I froze not wanting to continue."just try to ignore him." I let out hesitantly.
Kai moved closer to me, I felt the urge to do the same. He leaned in closer and closer then suddenly the DJ interrupted us.
"Alright, alright, alright! Here's tonight special slow dance. C'mon gentlemen, grab your special lady the dance floor awaits!" He finished off smiling brightly.
Trish and I slowly turned our heads to Daniel and Rosy, She seemed a bit nervous but that's when Daniel made his move. He stuck his hand out waiting for Rosy to accept the dance.
She smiled, with confidence this time. She held his hand and they made their way to the dance floor.
Trish and her friends giggled them went back to their gossiping but here and there you would here them smiling at the couples and talking about how cute they'd look together.
I laughed at the thought. I looked at Kai who was staring at me with a slight smile on his face.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing, I was just watching you grinning to yourself. I like your smile."
I smiled again, flattered by his compliment. He grinned widely due to my reaction.
