"I was told there were issues related to the night club chains under our supervision," I turned to face my men and my eyes immediately landed on one of them "Dominic?"
"Boss, Lorenzo has been spotted near one of our night clubs, one of his men tried to break in and blow the place up. Thankfully I and Thomas arrived on time and stopped the whole act. Everything seemed normal after that, but the bastard escaped once again."
"Patience," I spoke up "he can't keep running away. Now that he's back after all these years, I will make him pay for what he did."
At the same moment I finished my sentence, Thomas entered my office and nodded in acknowledgement, but he seemed like he wanted to tell me something.
"Shoot" I gave him permission to speak.
"Boss, you might want to know that Isabella tried to head out again."
My face expression changed from blank into an angered frown.
What the hell is that girl trying to do?
"What?" I growled, already starting to lose my temper without hearing the story as it is.
"I caught her as she was about to leave through the front door, but I didn't let her get out."
"Yes, but knowing her, she won't give up that easily" I breathed out and pinched the bridge of my nose. This child is going to be the death of me some day.
"You might be right about that." I lifted my head up and cocked an eyebrow at Dominic, quickly following his gaze which was directed at the window behind me.
Oh dear lord.
"Michael, go after her, see what she's up to and bring her here immediately." I gave an order to one of my men and he nodded at me, swiftly turning on his heel and exiting my office.
I let out a heavy exhale as I turned back, facing the window and observed Isabella's form, trying to hide behind every object that was able to keep her out of sight.
Shaking my head I mumbled, more to myself than anyone else in this room, "What are you up to now Isabella Radcliffe?"
Isabella
"In my office Isabella. Now."
The image of my father's angered face kept appearing in front of my eyes, no matter if they were wide opened or tightly shut and I knew better than to disobey him once more, so I decided to just go and face him.
He's rarely ever called me by my full name, usually when I was a lot younger and when I would do something wrong that always ended in me being grounded.
I couldn't help that awful feeling like my legs were giving up on me as I took the steps towards his office. I'm not used to seeing him this angry, especially at me and it really scared me sometimes.
When I got in front of the office, the door opened, revealing Thomas who was just about to head out and he shook his head at me, soon after letting out an exhale.
"You're in a big, big trouble young lady" he commented quietly.
"Tell me about it" the words came out in a mumble as Thomas moved himself forward so I could enter my dad's office. When I did, I noticed him stand facing the big window in the room and I let out a barely audible sigh as I closed the door behind me. Trying to swallow the lump in my throat, I approached his desk while my eyes were carefully scanning his movements and it was then when I picked up the courage to speak up.
