You and Hinata Shoyou have been best friends for basically your whole life. So when you transferred high school to go where he went you were both pretty excited. On your first day he asked you to watch his volleyball practice. You knew he was on a volleyball team, but you didn't know how good he was. You had seen him play that one game in middle school, and then you had to move away for a while. So when you got to the gym and saw him hit a quick you were simply ecstatic.

"Shoyou-chan!!! That was soooo cool!!!" you shouted running up to him and ruffling his hair. His eyes sparkled with pure excitement. "You really think so? I've been working on this with Kageyama for a long time," he said pointing to a dark-haired and much taller boy standing behind him who was for some reason in awe. "We only used to be able to do it with my eyes closed but now we can do it both ways!" he continued to shout.

At this your mouth dropped open. "You could hit a spike with your eyes closed?! Wow I'm impressed you've improved a lot," you say smirking down at him.

At that moment a voice broke out from across the gym. "Woah Hinata who's that? I didn't know idiots like you could have girlfriends," he laughed. You turned to him and said, "I'm not his girlfriend you telephone pole we're just really close friends." Your comment got a few snickers and laughs.

     At that moment a shorter person with freckles stepped through the door and said something to the tall ride thing. 'He's cute,' you thought.

     Practice ended up being cut short because of the weather so everyone got there phones out to text or call their parents. As soon as you finished the call to your parents you got a notification from the soulmate app. It was one of those essential apps that you can't delete from your phone, and it goes off every time your soulmate is near you.

     As soon as you got the notification you looked up to see Hinata walking towards you (don't worry it will all play out). 'What?' you thought. 'But I've known him my whole life, why would it go off just now?'

     "Do you still need a ride home y/n-chan?" Hinata asked coming to a stop in front of you. "Huh? Oh, yeah if that's ok with you," you replied. And with that the two of you walked out of the gym.

     Little did you know that when your phone went off the same boy with the freckles had been walking up behind you to ask you a question.

     The next day you were walking to school thinking about what had happened yesterday. In fact you couldn't stop thinking about it. It's not that you didn't like Hinata. You loved him, but only as a friend. There must have been some mistake. Besides, you didn't see his phone go off at the same time yours did. That must mean something.

     The day went by as slowly as ever, but the time came for volleyball practice again and Hinata asked you to watch again. As you made your way out of class to the gym you saw your phone go off again, but Hinata was nowhere in sight. 'It must have been a glitch then.'

     You felt a tap on your shoulder and turned around to see the boy with freckles from yesterday. "Oh hello," you started. "I saw you at practice yesterday, but I didn't get to introduce myself," the young boy said. He looked kind of nervous and had a slight blush on his face. "I'm Yamaguchi Tadashi," he held his hand out for you to shake and you gladly accepted. "Yesterday when I had my phone out the soulmate app sent me a notification. I was going to ask you if the same thing happened to you because it's never done that before, but you left with Hinata before I could say anything," his blush deepened.

     Your face lit up. "Yeah the same thing happened to me too. At first I thought it was Hinata, but I guess not. I mean- it's not that I don't like him it's just that we've only ever been friends and I-I was kind of hoping it would be you- I mean-," he laughed cutting you off.

     "You're cute,"he chuckled. "Can I walk you home after practice?" he asked.

     You looked down blushing, "I would like that very much."
