Chapter 26 Secrets Revealed

I drove home real quick, I got a private number calling.

"Hello?,"

"Melanie I don't have much time, just come bail me out. You know where my money is,"

"What did you get arrested for besides fighting?,"

" Doesn't matter right now, just do it,"

"Times up!," The officer yells.

"I'll see you soon I love you,"

"Love you too," I sag, he hangs up. I head over to his house to get his money and over to the jail.

"I'm here to bail out August Alsina," I say nervously. 

"Who are you?,"

"His wife," I say. She looks at my ring finger. "I accidentally left it at home," She nods. "What did he get arrested for again? I forgot,"

"Possesion of marijuana,  and armed weapon," I nod, hurt. Wow. "Now sign here," I pick up the peb debating if I wabt to bail him out. I'm his ride or die right? I sign the paper and hand her the money. I wait for August to come out, seemed like forever.

"Yeah okay," August says walking out. "Hey baby, " he says planting a kiss on my lips. I turn my head and walk out. I mean knew he smoked but I told him not to have it on him. Everytime I smoke with him I tell him And he tells me "Okay" or "I got this". No August you don't.

I start cooking dinner and start thinking.

"I saw some of my old friends," August says from the living room. I clench my jaw and cut the carrots,  I pretend to listen. "Oh yeah I-,"

"Why August," I say dropping the knife on the cutting board.

"What are you talking about?,"

"You having fucking marijuana on you when I tell you not to!," I raise my voice in frustration. 

"Damn sorry, I forgot I had it on me,"

"No you obviously didn't cause' you had weapons on you as well!," I say putting the carrots into the pot.

"Melanie lower your damn voice," I obey. "Now I had it on me because I had some business to take care of," I ignore him and his bullshit. I continue to cook. "I'm sorry," I still cook.  "So you are going to ignore me," Nothing from my mouth. "Fine," this is the part where he leaves and we go through everything again. But no he stays. 

**3 hours later***

"I'll be back," August says grabbing his keys. I put the leftovers in the fridge and go up to the bathroom. I run myself a bubble bath and slide in. I need to relax. I pour myself champagne and tilt my head back. The soft music played as I almost dozed off. I sipped on mh champagne and hummed to the music.

August POV

After I came back from "work" I went back to Melanie's. I heard soft music, I walk upstairs and followed the music. She was humming to thd music with her champagne and cucumbers over her eyes.

"Hey," I said, she jumped making water splash.  I try not to laugh.

"Oh hi, you scared me," She says. I take a cucumber off of her eye and eat it. I sit the edge of the tub.

"I'm sorry," I tell her.

"I'm sorry too," she says. That's the first."I was extra and I'm sorry," After we apologize we make up.

"I love you," I say drawing back from our kiss.

"I love you too," she says. "now get out so I can get ready for bed," she says shooing me away. I smile and walk out of the bathroom. 

MELANIE POV

"Goodnight, " I say.

"Night," he kisses me goodnight and I use him as a pillow.  We couldn't fall asleep so we stayed up and talked and listened to music. 

"How much do you love me?," I ask him.

"Enought to marry yo ass," He says moving me closer to him

"You won't marry me, aren't you too young to be talking like this?," He laughs as I recite his song 'I Luv Shit'.

"No, I really want to marry you. You got everything a man like me needs," I blush. "Smart, can cook, knows what love is, knows right from wrong, beautiful," he kisses my cheek. "Who wouldn't," he says into my ear. "One day," he grabs my hand. "One day doll, one day," he kisses me. Can't wait until that  day.
