Chapter 53 Made To Be Together

"I-I," I am so lost for words. "Why now?," he gets up and looks at me in a confused look.

"I don't under-,"

"No August I'm sorry, I don't want to go through that again,"

"But Melanie I changed,"

"Show me your texts," he looks at me like Im crazy. "Show me," he unlocks his phone and hands it to me. I scroll through and he is still talking to Brooklyn, Kiana, and Gloria ugly ass. "Wow," I hand him back his phone. "You sure did change a lot," I say.

"Melanie I was just-, "

"Save it, August ugh your really pissing me off. Your messing with my emotions! One day we are talking about getting together. The next day we are arguing,"

"I know, every damn couple argues Melanie. There is no such thing as a perfect man. Or perfect relationship. Shit I'll admit, I am not perfect," I look away from him. "Melanie you just look at me," I shake my head. I feel his soft hands grab onto mine. "One that I know is baby you were made for me," he starts to sing my favorite song. "Oh my gosh," I smile to myself and turn back towards him so he wont see me smile.

"My life is in your hands, I live to be your man. We’re made to be together," I smile and try to be mad at him. He wraps his arms around me and sings in my ear. "Girl you know just what to do to me, I acted so stupidly, and unless you want to take away my soul,"

"August," I start to giggle. He stops singing, and he tries to hit the high notes. "Stop," I laugh, he laughs with me. He plays with my fingers before intertwining our fingers. "You are something else,"

"Psh, I just trying to get my baby back," he pulls me into him.

"Im your baby now,"

"Melanie, you always have and always will be," he admits to me. I look down at us holding hands, and think to myself. What am I about to do? He tilts my chin up and leans down onto me. His soft lips touching against mine, makes more and more memories come into my head. I smile and continue to kiss him. I open my mouth and grab his face. I honestly don't want anything to ruin this moment. We both draw back and look at each other. We smile and look at each other, he raises our hands and kisses mine. "I love you,"

"I love you too," I smile, cant believe those words just came out of my mouth.

***the next day**

"Uhm Melanie you have a call on line 1," Autumn says interrupting me.

"Thank you," I stop what Im doing and pick up the phone. "Hello?,"

"Is this the sexy lady that works on floor 2?," Kahlil asks, I stop smiling. I was sort of expecting someone else.

"This is she," he laughs.

"How are you? You forgot to call me last night,"

"Im sorry I was working on this presentation,"

"Oh, I went to your house and nobody was there,"

"Yeah I went to my partner's house,"

"Oh okay, do you want to go out to lunch today?,"

"Uhm I already have plans with my co-workers," I lied. " Im sorry, how about tonight?,"
