One More Time
Chapter 2
Jasmine's Pov
I rushed into the shower, taking one of the quickest ones I ever had. I dried myself quickly and dressed myself. I pulled my wet hair into a ponytail, hoping that it looked at least presentable. I looked into the mirror and grimaced at my appearance. I should've gone another day, but it was to late to tell them that I wasn't going. I sighed slightly and walked out the door, closing it behind me.
I cautiously walked into the living room, seeing Jerry sprawled out on the sofa. I instantly felt guilty. I shouldn't have lashed out on him. So, I did what a big girl would do, I sat beside him and stared at him.
His eyebrows creased in confusion,"What?"
I sighed,"I'm sorry."
He gave me a small smile,"It's okay, I understand Jas."
"Really? So, you're not mad at me?"
"Of course not."
"Yay, so best friends again?"
He squinted at me and grabbed my head, messing up my hair.
I squealed and jumped from his grasp,"Jerry! You asshole!"
He laughed,"Does that answer your question? And what? It needed to be improved."
"If you weren't my best friend, I'd literally punch you in the face."
I tried fixing my hair again, but I gave up and just let it loose.
"So Jerry? Could you do me a favor?"
"Yeah, sure what is it?"
"Could you go somewhere with me?" I asked. My hands had taken a life of their own and were wriggling around nervously.
"Where?"
"Somewhere. Just come with me yes?"
He groaned,"Fine."
I smiled,"Yay! Come on."
"Wait, right now? Like this?"
"It doesn't matter," I said pulling on his arm.
"Wait, yes it does! No, don't drag me out! Woman how strong are you? No! I look like shit! Jasmine!"
I laughed as I dragged him to the car and buckled him in. He crossed his arms over his chest and pouted.
"Oh, stop being a baby."
He stook his tongue out at me,"I'm eighteen. I have a right to act like a baby."
I shook my head and started driving.
"So, where are we going?"
I tensed up,"Somewhere, I just need you there, okay?"
"Okay. Is there something I need to know?"
"I'll tell you one day. Just not now."
He nodded his head and kept silent. I was nervous. My heart pounded wildly in my chest, and my hands kept traveling to my hair.
"You're nervous," he stated.
"Very."
My heart beat seemed to quicken as I pulled into the driveway. I stopped the car and pulled out my phone. I texted Leslie.
As I closed the door, the door to the small brown house banged open and Leslie bounded down the stairs and straight to me. My lips turned into a grin as she jumped in my arms.
