It's been one solid week since Jacklyn and I have moved in with Viki and Belle. It's been good, no complaints and it's been way better for Jacklyn. But sometimes I have bad nightmares late at night seeing my mom and that day. I'm just glad I'm away from them.
We haven't been walking in the streets much but when we have I have occasionally seen pictures up with my face stating I'm a runaway child; which I didn't even know they did that kind of stuff. And the funny thing is there was even a 'nice' note attached saying that 'my family' wanted me back safe and sound. I just walked past the signs with my head down low, and mumbled curses.
All I know is that I'm not going back to that drunk, low life scum. But I have to admit, once in a while I felt pins of guilt when I thought of my mother. Just a tad.
Oh, and also I had asked Viki if I could work for her in Viki's Coffee House and she happily let me. But I convinced her to let me work the late shifts with Belle and with the new kid, James; who was pretty cool. I just didn't want my dad coming in, even though he would never; he usually got drunk at night, so it's the lowest probability that he would see me in the shop. He wouldn't even know the first place to look for me.
And for the first three days I have worked, I even got enough money to patch up old Jacklyn's birthday dress(which I kept crying on late at night, remembering that day). I wanted to give it to her again for a late present, and apology. I just hope that she would expect it.
I pricked my finger and winced. "Ow!" I whisper shouted. I stuck my pointer finger in mouth, licking off the blood. I brought my finger out and looked at the tiny blood dot. "Dang it."
I cut off the string to the dress and tied it off. As I placed the needle with the other needles and colorful strings I admired the work I have done so far.
Jacklyn was stirring in the bed next to mine, I smiled at her sleeping form.
Placing the box of yarns, strings, and needles under my bed, I slipped under the covers, looking over to Jacklyn.
She was must have been really tired, she just made friends the other day and they have been out side non-stop. I was so happy she made friends.
I rolled over and looked at the clock on the nice nightstand. It was already 11:45. I wasn't tired but I knew I couldn't sleep. I laid awake staring at the ceiling, the dark room had casting of street lights shadows and the blue light from the moon.
I tossed and turned till about midnight until I couldn't stand it any longer. I threw the hot covers off me and strolled to the french door windows. Opening the doors I stepped on to the little balcony, the wind passed and played with my violet hair. I looked over Durexon, and wonder what the other Category's look like.
The cool night air played with me and I began to feel sleepy but I just stood there. The moon was a smile and the stars were clear. The lights were as bright as they should be, and there were few people on the streets.
I was just turning to go back to bed when I caught sight of James. I was going to call out 'hi' but he was heading into an alley.
I raised an eyebrow. I was curious but I just headed to bed. It still took awhile before sleep over took me.

The beeping of the alarm clock and Jacklyn jumping on me telling me to get my butt up, broke my sleep.
I groaned and slapped the alarm clock. "Ugh! Geez, Jacklyn get off." I pushed her off with a grin, making her laugh.
"Come on, let's get breakfast," she wined pulling off my blanket.
