-Kelley-

I was pathetic.

They say when you really like someone, you'll do anything to tell them, to tell them how you feel. In this case, that was not me. I had a crush, a huge crush, and here I was hiding behind my best friend, trying to avoid her seeing me.

"Kel, stop. You're being weird." Emily said, as I sighed. "What are you doing?" She asked.

"Trying to make sure Allie doesn't see me." I mumbled. Emily wiggled her eyebrows at me, as I slapped her arm.

She was the only one out of the whole team that knew about my crush. I kind of hated her at times for it, but I knew that I could always go to her to talk about Allie if I needed to.

Allie Long was my crush.

Other people might say she's cold, and secluded, but not me. Allie was like a rare creature to me. Everything about her was amazing and special. She was something I couldn't help but stare at and smile about.

Her golden blonde hair, and her tan skin. Her slim jaw and mesmerizing blue eyes, they put me in a trance. A rare thing about Allie Long that drove me crazy was her laugh. It was more of a giggle, but it drove me insane.

"Kel, you're staring." Emily said, as I was snapped out of my trance. Allie was walking across the pitch, heading to the bench. Emily and I had to stay after and run sprints because we were messing around, but Allie stayed to work on her shot.

I couldn't help but stare.

"I was not." I mumbled.

"Yeah, sure." The tall forward said, as I hit her arm again. She laughed, as I rolled my eyes.

"Screw you." I said.

"Actually, you want to do that to Allie." Emily said, as I groaned.

"Like I'd ever screw you." I said, and she laughed.

"You use to want too." Emily said, as I glared at her.

"That was two years ago, and back then I didn't realize what a sarcastic ass you were." I said, and we laughed.

I did have a crush on Emily when she first joined the team, but that ended almost as soon as it started. Then the two of us became best friends, and the rest was history.

But these feelings I had for Allie, they were something I've never felt before. Whenever I saw her my stomach flipped and I grew dizzy. Seeing her smile made my knees weak, and hearing her oh so rare laugh made my whole body go numb.

"Have you ever though about talking to her?" Emily asked, as we ran our last sprint.

The forward pushed herself to run faster, as I tried to keep up with her. She was too fast. Who was I kidding, no one could keep up with Emily, not even Alex.

"I-can't." I said out of breath. Emily smiled, as she stretched out her arms. I was sweating and panting, and it doesn't even look like she ran at all. Even though it was freezing here, I was sweating.

What a bitch.

"And whys that?" She asked, as we headed towards the bench. Allie was currently rolling out her legs with a foam roller, and my eyes began to wander.

"Because I'm afraid." I whispered.

"Of what, her?" She asked.

"No, that she'll say no." I mumbled.

"Kel, you're not asking her to marry you. You're asking if maybe she'd want to hang out. You don't have to be specific. It's not a date, not yet. Unless you wanna throw on your big girl pants and actually ask her out." Emily said, as I groaned.
