So here's the start of my one shot book. This was requested by @wisekeg
-Alex-
Walking down the hotel hallway with various snacks in my hands, I stopped in front of my door. Leaning up against it, I slipped my key card out of my pocket. Unlocking the hotel door, I headed inside.
"Hey Mal." I said, dropping the snacks on my bed. Mal didn't respond, and I noticed she had headphones in. Walking over to her, I tapped her shoulder. "Hey." I said.
"Hey." She mumbled.
"What's wrong?" I asked, sitting down beside her.
"I hate Algebra." Mal groaned, and fell back into my lap.
"What aren't you understanding?" I asked.
"Everything. Like why the hell are there letters in math?" Mal said, as I tucked a strained of hair behind her ear.
"How about I help you. I do remember some Algebra." I said, and she nodded. Mal handed me her book, as I quickly scanned through it.
"Do you think you can help me?" She asked, and I nodded.
"Yeah. So you see, x has to be 2 here. Since the two sides are set equal, you just have to find whatever number makes the equation true." I said, and Mal groaned.
"Ugh!" She groaned, and nuzzled her head into my side.
"Maybe first we should review factors."
---
"Okay, ready?" I asked, and Mal nodded. Tossing her a ball, she began to juggle. "What are the factors of 18?" I asked. Mal continued to juggle, and sighed.
"1, 2, 3, 6, 9, and 18." Mal said, as I smiled.
"Correct." I said, as she did an around the world.
"Okay, what's x in this equation. -3x + 7 = 2x - 8." I said, as she continued to juggle.
"I-I don't know." She stammered.
"Yes you do Mal, you can do it. Think about soccer, and think about what we went over." I said, and she sighed.
"15 = 5x." Mal mumbled to herself. "3?" She questioned.
"Yes, yes Mal." I said, as she smiled. The younger girl dropped the ball, and sighed out.
"I get it." She said, and smiled. "Thank you Alex." Mal said, and came and hugged me.
"No problem Mal Pal." I said, returning her hug. "We should get to bed. We've got practice tomorrow." I said, and she nodded.
The two of us got in our separate beds, and I then turned the lights off. Things were quiet for a few minutes, and I was on the verge of falling asleep. I suddenly felt someone pull back my covers, and I knew it was Mal. Opening my arms, I let the smaller forward nuzzle into my side.
"Night Alex." The younger girl mumbled.
"Night Mal."

The next day at practice, Mal seemed really distracted. We had a break for awhile, as I walked over to her. Some of the older girls were trying to help her with something.
"No, I just don't get it." Mal said.
"Mal, what's up?" I asked.
"I get Algebra now, but I don't get biology." She mumbled, as I sighed.
"Let me see." I said, as she handed me a sheet. Biting my lip, I nodded. "Give me five." I said, and motioned for the girls to follow me.
I set up a little something, and then motioned for Mal to come over. There were two groups, and three of the girls were beside me.
"Okay, population and communities." I said, and Mal nodded. I passed her a ball, and she collected it at her feet. "So, Tobin here is a field mouse who is bringing food back to her field mouse family. Is she in a population, or community?" I asked Mal.
"Wait, Tobias a field mouse?" Mal questioned.
"Mal, focus." I said, and she sighed.
"Um, a community." She said, and I shook my head.
"No." I mumbled. "A community is all the different species, or populations. Just think. Populations is one species, a community is made up of different species or populations." I said, and she sighed.
"Okay." She said.
"So. Christen is a bird, returning to her home where there are field mice and rabbits. What is she in?" I asked.
"A community." She said, and I nodded.
"Do you understand the difference?" I asked, and she nodded. "Anything else you need help with?" I asked.
"Well, I could always use a little help with History."

So that was my first one shot. I hope you guys like it, and there will be more to come.
Sorry if it so short, I'm working on making them longer and better.
