Cold Water

Chapter 2

May 11th 2016

It was 8:30 in the morning and I was feeding the girls breakfast. They were all ready and I was just waiting for a text from Pattie. "Did you get all dressed up for daddy mommy?" Jane said giggling as she chewed on her waffle. I giggled and nodded. I haven't seen Justin in like 5 years. I have seen pictures of him because he's all over the news and magazines. He hasn't seen what I look like. I heard my phone start to ring and saw it was Pattie. "Time to go girls!" I said putting the dishes in the sink and putting they're snacks in my diaper bag. We walked out and Pattie was pulled into my gravel driveway next to my little Honda Accord that I bought when I was 16. I helped the girls get in and I got into the passenger seat.

At The Airport

I felt my heart in my throat as we waited for Justin to come out. I was holding Jane and Aria. They were probably as nervous as me. We were standing by the gate. Pattie was rubbing my arm. I saw the door open and Hugo walk out and Justin followed. He was looking down at his phone. "DADDY!" Jane and Aria screamed and Justin looked up. He looked shocked and the girls jumped out of my grip and hugged his legs. I felt my heart drop as his face turned from shock to anger. He hated me. I felt tears start and a sob escaped my mouth. Pattie grabbed the girls and I ran out of the airport as fast as I could. I sat in the parking lot sobbing as hard as I could. I felt little arms wrap around me. I saw my girls with tears in there eyes. "Don't cry mommy pwease." Aria said. "YOU BIG MEANIE BUTT!" Jane said pointing and wagging her little finger at Justin. He looked at me and back at the girls. "I didn't know." He said his voice cracking. I felt my heart ache. We got into the car and Justin sat in between Jane and Aria. "Tomorrow is the twins birthday." I said. "Yeah were having a princess party daddy." Aria said tracing his tattoos. Jane sat in her car seat with a grumpy face. She's a mamas girl. "You guys are going to be 5 yeah?" Justin said poking Jane's nose and she tried to bite his hand. "Yeah daddy are you coming?" Aria said bouncing in her car seat. "I wouldn't miss it." He said kissing and giving Jane raspberries on her neck and tickling her sides. She giggled and squirmed. I giggled as I watched them. "Justin you're going to be in the apartment with Ria and the girls." Pattie said and I looked at her and gasped. "What?!" I said "Oh hush you'll thank me later." She said giggling.
