I was always close with my father; him getting married again didn't change that. I used to stay at his new house nearly every weekend when I was little, that way I became friends with Macy. At first I didn't like her at all because I thought she would replace me or something, but then I realized she could never do that, so we managed to get along. And then, somehow, we became good friends. My mother used to drive me to his house and dad would bring me back home. It was never a long ride, because they happened to live in the same town, just different parts of it. Later when I got my own car, I sometimes rode there after school and just hung out, or took Macy to our place.

Now I was looking at myself in the mirror of Macy's room, running my hands down my dress brushing it straight. I was wearing a simple, one shoulder navy blue dress that reached a little above my knees, my hair was straightened and falling loose over my shoulders. I tilted my head a little to the side, considering if I should put on some make-up, but decided against it. It was a little before eight o'clock and I already heard voices coming from downstairs where the party was being held.

Macy had woken me up that morning, at around ten thirty -which is pretty early for a Saturday morning- with a phone call, reminding me that she already had dresses and that Jenna and I should just be there as soon as possible.

After we hung up, I got out of bed, walked out of my room, and headed to Jenna's, which happened to be right next to mine. Our house isn't big, it consist of two stories. The first story has a kitchen, our living room, one bathroom and my mother's bed room on it. The second one, which is smaller than the first one, only has Jenna's bedroom, a little bathroom, and my bedroom on it.

I knocked on Jenna's closed door and waited. When I got no response, I opened the door, walked inside, and nearly tripped over the pile of clothes that was thrown on the floor of her room. I shook my head and moved them out of the way with my foot. Jenna's room was always a mess. One could find anything hidden under the piles of clothes on her floor. Like this one time where she borrowed my newly bought hair straightener and used it to straighten her hair for her yearbook picture, she kept it in her room. We didn't find it until three months later under her bed, when my mother forced her to tidy her room.

I made my way to her bed, sat on the corner of her bed and looked at her. She was still asleep.

"Jenna, wake up," I said poking her cheek.

When she didn't move I poked her again. This time she muttered something, and hid her head under her pillow.

I sighed and then said, "come on Jenna, you have to get up."

Again, she didn't respond.

"Fine," I said smirking a little. "You leave me no other option."

I stood up and walked around the bed to the other side. Then suddenly I jumped on her and started tickling her.

She started laughing and screamed, '"I'm up, I'm up!"

I laughed, and when I didn't stop, Jenna crawled out of the bed and fell on the floor laughing really hard. I looked down at her grinning and said, "Good morning."

She sat up and looked at me, "never, ever do that again."

I smirked, got out of her bed and said, "Macy just called and told me we should be there as soon as possible, so be ready in one hour."

She nodded, stood up and pulled her hair into a messy bun. Then she looked at me and asked, "Should I take a dress with me in case I don't like the one Macy picked for me?"

I though a moment before answering and then said, "No, I know Macy's sense of style, and it's good. Plus, it's her birthday and she would want us to wear them, it would be rude not to."

She just nodded again and walked to her closet, opened it and started looking through her clothes. I started to walk out and before I left I turned around again and said, "oh, and tidy up your room a little.''

She either ignored or didn't hear me because she didn't even look up, so I closed the door and headed to my room.

Back in my room, I walked to my closet, opened it and got out my favorite pair of dark jeans and a green hoodie, and walked back outside to the bathroom.

I locked the bathroom's door and put my clothes on the little counter next to the sink. Then I took of my Pjs and stepped into the shower. I let the warm water run down my skin for about ten minutes, then put shampoo on my hair and washed myself.

After I was done, I got dressed, brushed my teeth and walked back to my room. I pulled the bag I always took to my dad's house from under the bed, and put a new pair of Pjs and some fresh underwear inside. When I was done, I picked up the bag and headed downstairs.

In the kitchen, Jenna was eating cereal and chatting with my mother, who was leaning against a counter, about this new movie she went to see with her friends. When I walked inside my mother smiled her warm smile at me.

"Good morning sweetie."

"Morning," I said returning her smile. Then I looked at Jenna and asked, "ready?"

"Yup," she said and stood up.

I turned back to my mother and said, "Sorry mom we have to get going, we're late already."

She just nodded, walked over to me and kissed my cheek, "Have fun."

I smiled and said, "I hope we will."

Then I took an apple from the bowl on the kitchen isle, waited until Jenna was done with her cereal and walked with her to my car.

We arrived at my father's house 15 minutes later and Macy was already waiting for us. She gave us both quick hugs and then pulled us upstairs to show us the dresses she had picked for us. On the way up, I saw a quick glimpse of my father and grinned at him. He winked at me and laughed a little.

The whole day was a complete rush, and no one had time for the other. My father was the whole day on the phone with the catering service, because they got the menu wrong and were working on a way to make a fast, yet good, new food replacement. Evanah had an urgent call from the hospital she was working at, and had to leave. Jenna and Macy went to the hairdresser to have their hair done. I just thought it would be best to stay away from all of this and stayed in the room Jenna and I always occupy when we are here.

Suddenly the door flew open and Macy and Jenna walked inside laughing. Jenna had her hair straightened and had a bow in it. She was wearing a red strapless dress with a ruffle skirt that showed off her fair, pale skin. Macy had her hair in a messy, yet good looking up do and was wearing a black high waist skirt, with a rose-colored blouse stuck inside it.

I smiled and walked over to them, "you both look amazing."

Macy looked grinned at me, here cheeks were flushed from excitement, "Thanks, so do you, but why aren't you coming downstairs? A lot of people want to meet you."

Great, I thought grimacing a little, can't wait to meet all those stuck up people of Upper East Side.

Macy went to a private school called Upper East Side, while Jenna and I attended the public school called Salem High. Maybe I'm a little harsh when I say all of the students there are stuck up, but from what I've seen, my judgement wasn't the wrong.

"I'll be right there," I said still smiling.

"Great," Macy said, "don't take too long, though."

And she and Jenna hurried back downstairs. I took a deep breath, slowly closed the door and followed them downstairs.
