Just Friends?- A Liam Payne Imagine Part 3!

You had just spoken your heart out and you yourself could not believe what you had just done.

There was a silence and then suddenly your mum came up to your room “Here you both are! Liam sweetheart why don’t you spend the night here with us” You mother offered liam.

“No its okay I have some work back at home to finish” Liam spoke coldly staring at your mum with a blank expression.

You just sat there looking at the bowl of ice cream; you did not want to look at Liam, as you knew if you did you could not hold your tears back.

“Liam come on you always stay” your mum insisted, “I know I do but not this time” He said “Y/N Tell him to stay!” you mum told you “No if he wants to go he can” You said heartlessly. “Anyway I will leave now, it’s been a long day” Liam said getting up and thanking your mum for the meal.

You knew that he would not say anything to you. You knew know he would NEVER talk to you, you had just ruined your friendship with him.

Liam left your room without even looking back at you. Your mum knew that it was best not to intrude and she left you alone in that dark room again. You were not even crying now, there was no use, you just sat the whole night emotionless, without moving, thinking about the beautiful memories you had spent with him.

Morning came very early that day. You had barely slept all night, and were very tired.

You lazily walked towards your phone hoping that liam had called you or messaged you saying “That he loved you too”. But there was nothing, no message no call no nothing, so you decided to check your twitter.

You automatically searched Liam and went on his timeline he had not even tweeted anything, and you knew how Liam can’t live without twitter. You felt miserable about telling him that you loved him, so you decided to find this girl he was in love with on the net.

You searched and searched and finally found the prettiest, sweetest and the most perfect girl you had ever seen. “How can I even think he will like me when he has her” That was the thought in your mind at the moment.

Just then your phone buzzed “I want to meet you, please?” It was a text from Liam, you were excited but mostly nervous. You replied “Okay” that very moment. This time you did not bother to dress up so much, you went as natural as possible.

You reached a park, by following Liams directions and it was one of the most beautiful places you had ever seen. You still had your hopes high, that just maybe he would realize you are the one for him?

You sat on the bench but did not see Liam anywhere. So you decided to call him, but as soon as you reached our for your phone, you saw him wearing a navy blue shirt with his sleeves rolled up and jeans, and of course his ray bans.

“He was too perfect for you” You thought.  You got up as he came towards you. “Hi” you said faking a smile. He nodded back at you without saying a word. You both sat down on the bench awkwardly, without saying a word.

“Y/n?” He said breaking the silence.

You looked towards his beautiful brown eyes, which were golden brown because of the suns refection.

“Yeah?” you said.

He cleared his throat and said “I’m sorry” You knew that he would say “I am so sorry for breaking your heart and all that” You decided to be strong and smile, and said “It’s okay Liam I totally understand”

“What do you understand?” Liam asked. “That you’re in love and she’s amazing, and yeah she is very beautiful and I bet she’s an amazing person too”  you knew that it was pointless trying to get him now

“I really love her” Liam whispered. You could not hold your tears when he said that and a few escaped, but you immediately rubbed them off.

“I know, and I’m happy for you” you said.

He stared at you for a few moments and suddenly enclosed you in a tight hug.

You burst out crying.

He brought you away and cupped your cheek wiping your tears away “I’m so sorry Y/n” He said. You could not speak

“You are too beautiful, caring and sweet for me.” He said. “Were you?”  you thought.

But you did not have the energy to say anything.

You kissed Liam on the cheek and said “Best of luck with her.” Liam got up and stopped you and asked you “We are still friends right” You knew the answer of that “Of course we are” you spoke.

You realised that it was better to have Liam as a friend rather than loose him forever. “I love you Y/n.” He said and hugged you again, embracing you. “As a friend! Add that” You smirked trying to joke.

You were very hurt but in the long run you knew that it was better for both of you, you knew that him and you was never possible.

Or at least at that time you did think like that, because today you are his wife.

 He did love you back, always did, he just needed some time to realise it. So by the end of it, you weren't "JUST FRIENDS!"
