Chapter 2
"BING"
Finally the morning is over. After French class, the morning became very long.
I had tried to focus in my other classes too but I just couldn't. Mondays are always feel like they take years to go through.
I stand in the hallway waiting to see if just maybe Samantha or Aroe will hang out with me today.
Finally, I see the bright red hair of Aroe as she walks down the hallway at about the speed of a snail. I can tell that she is trying to make it look like she is coming but she is actually waiting. Waiting for Alec to finish putting his stuff away.
I turn around quickly to walk out the door right in time to see Samantha walk out with Blake.
I walk towards the door leading outside and push it open. As I step outside, the brisk air of fall surrounds me and starts to sneak into my jacket and all over my skin.
Fall is not my favorite time of the year but it is still good weather. I haven't frozen to death yet so I am happy. The winters get terrible in Fristilia. People come here to ski in the winter because it snows so much. It's a nice place to live. It's a pretty safe place and I love to just walk around everywhere. It's so beautiful.
I walk towards the track. Everyone hangs out near the track during free period since they can walk and talk. I find it pretty stupid but oh well.
I scan the area as I arrive. My eyes find the tall and muscular figure of Talen walking with his girlfriend Zoey. Talen has been my friend since seventh grade. He used to text me all of the time about how much he liked Aroe. Then, they dated. After she dumped him, he texted me about her and how much he loved her until freshman year. During eighth grade, not only did he tell me how much he liked Aroe but, he also told me about how much he liked Samantha. Then, freshman year, Aroe started dating Alec and Samantha started to date Blake. Finally, Talen let them go and searched for a girlfriend. Talen had dated some people. Then, at the beginning of this year, he asked out Zoey and she said yes.
I remember how I used to like him in the end of seventh grade but that only lasted about a week. After hearing about how much he had liked Aroe and how she had liked him too, my crush stopped.
I pull myself out of my thoughts as I search for Reagan. She is one of the nicest and funniest people at this school. I have been hanging out with her a lot lately and it's cool. Especially since her giant group of friends are especially nice.
I talk to them or a short period of time but then I decide that I want to be alone for a bit. People can get too much for me sometimes. Especially when the topic is other people in our class or the teachers.
I walk to the small courtyard that I discovered in seventh grade. I think I am the only one who knows about it which is really great when I don't want anyone around.
I sit against the big bubbling fountain and close my eyes. I just want to relax right now. I want to be alone and I want to just let all emotions out of me. I pull my knees up and wrap my arms around my legs as I place my chin on my knees.
I look around the courtyard and take in everything. There are three small concrete benches that circle the outside. There are small flat stones that cover the ground. The green moss stands out against the grey and brown colored stones. There are two small purple trees on two sides of the courtyard. And all around there are small blue, purple, and green stones that bring in more color. From a birds eye view, this courtyard would be a perfect circle with the big fountain in the middle. It's pretty colorful with the trees, moss, and stones. I love everything about this place, the way that is always quiet besides the birds chirping and the quiet gurgling of the fountain. It is the perfect place to be.
