Chapter 4: Every nightmare comes with a happy beginning

I felt the stinging pain even when I was unconcious. It was an ongoing nightmare, but one from where I couldn't wake up. Three days. Three long days, I went through this pain. When suddenly I woke up. The pain gone except for a burning in my throat. Blood, I need blood. I looked up and saw Alec leaning against my door. A smile came upon my face,"Alec...you had enough self control...not to kill me."  He looked at me and smirked,"Of course I did, I'd never kill you Scarlett...you're too important.", he said, slowly getting closer to me. 

Alec sat down and told me things that I needed to know. How we couldn't sleep, we're immortal, and we have immense speed and strength.  One thing that really stood out to me was when he was talking about a vampire's mate. "When our mate is killed, we won't stop until the killer is dead. The only way a vampire can be killed is by ripping them apart and setting them on fire.", he said.

I had to admit all of this was scaring me a little bit. "C'mon", he said,"You need blood."  "Wait", I began,"I can't drink human blood...no way."  "Alright, then you can be a vegetarian. Drink animal blood.", he replied.

He took me out hunting, I was starving and the only thing on my mind was that I knew I had to satisfy my thirst. I ran as fast as I could, and took down 2 deer.  As soon as I was done, Alec and I headed back to the castle.  "Scarlett", Aro spoke,"since you are our newborn. You need training. Let's see...Alec will train you. He is one of our deadliest weapons. You shall learn many techniques from him."  I eyed Alec, I didn't know he was THAT dangerous. "Alright," I said,"Give me a second to change."  I ran back to my room and wore a black tank top and black shorts. And put on my volturi necklace, since I was now part of their coven.  I met Alec in the next room. It was huge and was made entirely out of marble. 

"Alright Scarlett," he said,"You have a lot to learn before you can be of proper use to us."  I quickly nodded. He was so serious all of a sudden.  "First of all, do NOT act on impulse. Know your enemy's weak points and then manipulate them to take them down. Here I will give you a demonstration.", Alec told me.  Just then, he took off his shirt.  Oh wow, Alec is so attractive. I looked away for a second and pretended not to notice, but of course I did.  "Scarlett," I looked over and shook my head to get out of the trance.  "Alright," he began,"attack me."  I was shocked, what if I hurt him, but nevertheless, I took off. I ran as fast as I could, but as soon as I reached Alec, he flipped me into the wall.  Oh my god, how did he-?  "I found your weak points, Scarlett," he looked at me,"You're impulsive, that's bad. Find your opponent's weak points.", he said again.  Alright, I can do this.

This time, Alec ran towards me.  I stood still, then as he came towards me, I grabbed him by the arm and pinned him down.  He smiled,"Well done."  I got up and looked around, when he pinned me down,"Don't ever look away until, you're positive your enemy is killed."  I quickly nodded. He got up and put his arm out. I grabbed it and he pulled me up.  We just stared into eachothers' eyes for a moment.  He was so amazing.  He smirked,"Lesson's over for today."  I watched him walk out of the room, but I stood still still dazed. I smirked. I think I might like it here.
