"Now this gon' be the hardest thing I think I ever do," Jacob sings along to a throwback song on the radio, while keeping straight on the highway. "Got me talkin' to myself askin' how I'm gon' tell you."

It's currently raining with slight isolated thunderstorms and Jacob's out once again because he was over at new friends' place, but they wasn't there. It's kinda annoyed him that no one gave him a notice and it wasted some minutes of his time, thought the west end is seven minutes away from the university. But Jacob in content that earlier he glance at his dashboard, and don't recall when was the last time he filled up his gas tank. Sometimes, he would go to convenience stores to get junk food or whatnot, but never buy gas for his car, even when his car is running on a drop of kerosene. Horrible habit he adapts and want to change.

Jacob pauses on singing as soon his phone rings, that's flashing over at passenger seat. As soon he recognized the caller id with an contact he never thought about saving, he picks up the device and keeps glaring at it, while looking out for the road of course. He's in a terrible dilemma should he answers Chresanto, or just let it ring. The last time they conversed was this morning, on Snapchat. How their conversation ended wasn't the best. The way that Chresanto agreed with Jacob's words that indicates that no one should care about him, kinda put Jacob in pain right at the moment. He knows that he shouldn't talk with the younger boy for reassurance most of time, but the way Chres became aloof and practically agreed in the chat suddenly, definitely made it seems like he gave up on Jacob. From now on.

Deep down, Jacob didn't intend to leave Chresanto no other option but to become nonchalant everything. Sure, the younger boy did something that foul a while back that he's kinda stubborn to forgot all about, but unlike all these people that Jacob dealt or currently dealing with and the head-to-heart ache problems along with it, Chresanto isn't a bad person. Other than the nude, Jacob, so far, had no deep drama with him.

If Jacob makes this call, which it's just the FaceTime Audio, his head don't seem to think straight, thanks to everything that's going on. He don't want to seem like a burden━what Chresanto want to actually say. He don't want to piss Chres off even more to the point could ask why do he care. Even though, Chresanto is the one that's calling him.

So, Jacob did the right thing (that's right to him, of course) by placing the phone back in the passenger seat, letting it flash and ring until Chresanto hangs up and put his right hand back on the leather steering wheel, looking intently forward, ignoring the soft blue lightning up bolting in the night sky, raindrops, windshield wipers. How the way the older boy is looking intently out the window and gripping on the wheel isn't because he needs to be focused on the road. He's thinking of an excuse to say to Chresanto, if he ever ask why he didn't accept his call right then and there.

If he ever calls back, because what he's kinda paranoid about from now on.

Finally, his phone stops with the commotion when he made his turn to his favorite convenience store. It's just his favorite because the gas prices is fair to pay, even though it keeps slipping his mind that him and Rakim robbed a couple of places yesterday.

After pulling up to a vacant gas pump and Shell seems like it's gonna close in less than twenty minutes, Jacob shifts his vehicle in park, powers off his ignition but leaves in his keys for his radio to play━that's playing his second favorite Usher album, unbuckles the seat belt, and exits his car. He didn't mind the raindrops land on his hair because he didn't feel like throwing on his hood. Though the hood can cover up the sadness that he can't efface. He's physically and mentally exhausted right now.

"Hey!" someone casually yells at the 19 year old, while he's close to the store's entrance. Jacob looks over at the right side of the gas pumps, like a deer just been spotted with headlights. Apparently, he was just getting out of his car, leaving his door open while walking towards Jacob. Nevertheless, Jacob is standing there, bemused.
