• Minhyuk's pov •

Today is the day, the day I never look forward to, Aira's birthday. I sighed deeply while looking at the calender.

The day he came back, the day where I no longer can  just knock on her door because I miss her, the day I completely lose my chance to be with her again...

I am selfish, aren't I? I knew she can only be happy if she's with him but my heart just won't let go. I feel like I'm going insane.

Aira looked amazingly beautiful in that dress, like a goddess. She came with I.M which made me utterly jealous. You see, I know I.M had feelings for Aira. I hated that I have so many competitors but I want her to be happy.

I kept on biting my nails because I was so nervous until Kihyun patted my shoulder

"Something wrong?" he looked at me with a hint of concern

"Uh nothing", I avoided his gaze and he chuckled

"Aye~ I've known you for a long time, ahjusshi. It's because of Hyungwon and Aira, isn't it?", my eyes flinched at the name, Hyungwon.

I just sighed deeply and Kihyun comforted me. The crowd gathered for the speech and I saw two figures entering from the door. It was Hyungwon, he held Aira's hand while they entered. I didn't realized I was tearing up.

"Ah yes, the rumors are true. I did plan this for someone that hold a special place in my heart", I clenched my fists and a tear escaped my eye. Hyungwon looked at Aira lovingly while she smiled which made my heart felt like it has been stabbed over a thousand times.

Hyungwon walked off the stage and walked towards Aira. I didn't realize I was approaching Aira as well. My breathing become heavier.

• Aira's pov •

I stood there in shock when Hyungwon called my name, I didn't know what was happening. That's when I noticed that Minhyuk was also approaching me. I keep looking back and forth to both of them. I decided to close my eyes.

I felt a strong grip in my wrist and he dragged me away. I slowly opened my eyes to see Minhyuk's back. He led me out of the building to the parking lot.

I forcefully yanked him away from me

"What do you think you're doing, Lee Minhyuk?", he stopped his steps and turned around to face me. He was crying...

"I-I can't do th-this", he tried to speak out but it came out as stuttering.

"Do what Minhyuk?", I took a step closer but he backed away

"L-letting y-you go", he ruffled his hair in frustation and sobbed quietly

"Minhyuk...", I tried to comfort him but he pushed me away

"I'm a fool, aren't I? I knew your heart were never with me yet I still begged you to stay. How childish of me", he wiped his tears and I can't help but tearing up as well

"Minhyuk, is that how you think all this time?",
I tried to get closer to him but he suddenly looked up and deeply stared at me

"I'm not good enough... I'll never be good enough for you...", tears escaped rapidly from his eyes

"Minhyuk stop saying nonsense!", I yelled

"Do you even consider my feelings for you? I know I said I love you all the time, but it's true. I do love you and I don't care even if I'm your distraction, as long as I can be with you it's okay. I just thought maybe, just maybe your heart might change. I was endlessly hanging on to something that's not real", he snorted

"I do consider your feelings! That's why I chose to break up, I'm afraid that I'll hurt you, I need to realize my own feelings. I thought that I was in love with Hyungwon, but when I saw him earlier for the first time since four years ago, my feelings for him... It's not the same anymore", I took a step closer to him and lifted his chin up

"And do you know why? Because I think I already fall for someone else", Minhyuk looked at me hopelessly

"Wh-who is it?", he mumbled lowly

"He was there for me all the time, he never gives up on me, he patiently waited for me, he cope up with me and he still loves me even when I hurt him. Hell we both hate cucumbers, that's a big sign", I finally saw him smile a bit.

He pulled me closer to him and wrapped his arms around me.

"I love you, Lee Minhyuk the crybaby", I heard him giggled a bit and I buried my face in his chest

"I'll never give up on you, Baek Aira. I love you", he kissed my hair and we both hugged each other tightly.
