"Hey everyone, meet Aditya" Alisha announced while holding his hand. Well, I've already met him before and could never strike up a sustainable conversation. It usually begins with hi and ends at bye.
He waved. I should've been happy but I look hideous, he must've noticed the love handles that are certainly not loveable. I drowned in the novel again.
"Let's cut the cake" the crowd rejoiced. I don't really want to get up but Alisha has been rolling her eyes at me, quite a plenty times, for me not to piss her anymore. We all gathered and the cake was cut with the first piece coming towards me. Thanks to the birthday girl. Well the second piece went to Aditya following with a cosy hug. I was jealous but the food is great and I'm satisfied.
"So how's work Miss Bose? Aditya joined me.
"Ah! Excellent" A plain white lie from my side.
"Miss. Bose I heard you write. Is that true?"
"I've a blog" o my god this is the longest conversation we have ever had in any time before.
"Fashion blogging is it?!" he asked.
And I just sensed sarcasm. Because, me and fashion, inversely proportional.
"A fashion blogger will never arrive at a party in casuals"
Gosh! I just said that? Why on Earth do I even exist on this planet? I could have said something better but no I had to bring my hideousness under his notice.
"Miss. Bose you're one funny woman" he broke into laughter.
"So what book is that?" he added pointing out to the book in my hand.
"Another monsoon by K. Hussein" I said and looked into his eyes, gosh such gorgeous deep eyes.
"It's a love story" I added and the word 'love' gave me shivers.
"So is it tragic like all other love stories?"
"I'm afraid the answer is yes."
"I don't understand why is love being portrayed as one tragic event in life?" his eyebrows formed a frown.
Well, because there are people like me, hideous; and then there are people like you, gorgeous. And when people like me fall for people like you, tragedies happen.
"I guess tragedies are easy to portray. We connect with sorrow quickly unlike happiness." I answered.
"Impressive! So can I borrow this book for a read Miss Bose?" he gave in his hands.
I was on the ninth cloud. Why just the book? You can take me too. Okay, that was a little too much.
"Sure."
"I'll call you once I'm done."
**
It must be a dream but no it's not. I've pinched me like a thousand times and here I lay wide awake on my bed thinking, how his lips moved and eyes twinkled while he spoke. Ah! Aditya Jha You're such a prince charming.
