Tiffany's P.O.V
"So, what happened this morning to cause all this?" Jack asked me.
We were sitting on my bed, inches away from each other. My room was a gloomy gray color, and had not much in it. My bed was against the wall, and there were two windows; one that showed the neighbors house, and one that showed Jack's house. Every day I would sit at my desk in front of the window and just stare. Sometimes I would sit there all day, just watching Jack's castle like house. I would sometimes even fall asleep there. The best time was when I would see Jack, looking out his window as well. He never knew I was watching him because my window was more of a one way mirror. I could see him but he couldn't see me.
Finally I answered his question. "I was.... Crying this morning, and everyone could hear me. Soon enough people came up to my door, asking me what was wrong and how they could help." I had a slight shade of pink across my cheeks. I was fiddling with the end of my dress as Jack was listening to me. He asked me,"..... Why were you crying?"
I couldn't answer. It was too embarrassing. He wouldn't understand.
I continued fiddling with my dress and didn't look up at him. He sighed and put his bony hand on my shoulder. I finally looked at him. I watched his empty sockets, knowing that he was watching my eyes.
"Tell you what, if you want, we can have a picnic tonight. Just you and me," Jack said smiling. I looked at him with hope in my eyes. Finally, I gave him a smile back and nodded.
Maybe this was my chance. My chance to tell him how I felt, but what would he say? After all, I am so much younger than him. Even if he did like me back, being together would ruin his reputation. He could get in big trouble. Well it didn't matter, I was pretty much going on a date with him tonight. At least that was how I thought of it. He probably thought of it as a play date for me, or a private place for us to talk. Oh well.
Soon enough, Jack left my home and went back to his job. I looked out my window as he went to talk to the mayor. I wish I could hear Jack's voice again. I already missed it, although I heard it everyday. He always visited me, knowing I only like his comfort. I've always been like that. I would never talk to anyone unless Jack asked me too. I would never go outside without him. I would pretty much do nothing unless it had to do with Jack.
