I could open my eyes but my vision was blurry. I could make out faces but I didn't know who's they were. I could move but I couldn't get up. I could see all around me but didn't know where I was. "Matthew?" I heard Alex's voice. "Where am I?" I replied, my voice croaky and my throat sore. "In your house dummy!" I recognised that as Ashley's voice. "Oh!" I chuckled as my sight became clearer. "What happened?" I asked. I had a pounding headache. To me it felt like someone had hit me with a baseball bat in the same place, over and over. "You fainted." Rose said as she walked over to me. "From stage fright." She added. "Where's Alissia?"
"She's at school, you've been out cold for the whole night." Lilly said as she handed me some paracetamol, which I obviously took. "You should feel OK after the paracetamol settles. Alex walked over to me and sits on my bed, "you sounded amazing last night. By the way." I smiled,
"Thanks. But I did NOT enjoy performing and I'm never doing it again."
"Aww but you sounded so good!"
"Oh well so what!?" Truth is I was just afraid to tell them I enjoyed myself. The rush was amazing and singing made me feel like it wasn't actually me up there because I'd get so engrossed in the music that I could put myself in their mind and forget everything. I just thought it would seem weird because I'd never sung before.
