School was the same as any other day. I sat through English, bored and struggling, I sat through Maths, bored and struggling same with art but not the same as music. I felt more confident but I didn't show it and pretended to pay no attention whatsoever so people in my class wouldn't think I was some crazy wannabe. When school ended I met my sister at the gates to walk home same as usual. "So, how was school?" I asked Ally. She shrugged, "boring." I laughed.
"You've still got four years left." I said to her, laughing. She pouted at me and then she waved at one of her friends. The friend came bouncing over. She had long dark brown hair and black glasses. "Hi Ally!" She chirruped. "Hi Gracie" Ally smiled.
"Hi! You must be Matthew." Gracie said happily. "Uh yeah." I loved how happy she looked. "Gracie's coming over for a sleepover tonight by the way." I nodded at her. "And uh we're gonna be using the Netflix soooooo." She giggled. SO ANNOYING!
"Anything to keep you out the way." She furrowed her eyebrows and I laughed at how silly she looked. "Let's get going then." Said Gracie. My phone went off. I reached for my pocket and realised I had a text from Mum. It read: I've got you a surprise at home! Xx
Oh no... When mum got me a surprise it always seemed to be waaaaay to young for me. When I was 5 I could accept a spiderman top but now... NO WAY! I was interested to see quite how disastrous it would be this time. We left school and walked home. I opened the door and we all went inside... Mum was waiting for me. "Hello you three. Can I talk to Matt for a sec?" Mum asked and I cringed. "Sure!" Gracie and Allisia said in sync as they thundered up to Ally's room. "So" said my mum as I prepared my self for embarrassment. "Me you and Ally are going to London!" My mouth dropped open. "Why?" I asked.
"Because... Me and your father" she corrected herself... "stepdad. Have paid for you to enter The XFactor!" I stared at her, shocked. "Oh my god..." I was absolutely gobsmacked. "You're not joking..?" Mum shook her head as I jumped up and down and hugged her. "When is it?!" I asked her. I WAS SO EXITED!!! "Next week. On the Monday." OH MY ACTUAL GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
