"What are you singing for us?" The man asked me. He could tell I was nervous. I bit my lip and said "One Dance by Conor Maynard and Harper." The music started playing and my eyes welled up with tears... Stage fright. I tried to sing the words but they were stuck at the back of my throat. When the chorus came on I managed to sing just not very loudly. "That's why I need a one dance. Got a Hennessy in my hand. One more time 'fore I go. Higher powers taking a hold on me." The crowd clapped and I could tell my friends were surprised at the crowd's reaction. So was I. I sang the repetition of the chorus a lot louder, encouraged by the crowd. My friends and everyone else in the room were cheering so loud, the louder they cheered the louder I sang. "Strength and guidance. All that I'm wishing for my friends. Nobody makes it from my ends. I had to bust up the silence." When I'd finished the song the crowd cheered so loud and my eyesight was becoming blurry and my legs turned to jelly and the cheering and cheering and
