"Noah?" I knocked on his bedroom door for the fifth time. "We need to talk about last night."

"You were rude and I'm gonna leave you alone. There, we talked."

"Noah, come on, open the door."

He opened the door and revealed an upset Noah. "You have five minutes. Go," he said.

I took a deep breath. "I'm sorry about last night." He gave me a look. "I was upset, and I shouldn't have taken my anger out on you."

"The question is: why did you get so upset?"

"It doesn't matter. What matters is that you're my best friend, and I hate having you upset with me. So, yes, I am really sorry, and I want you to love me for the brat with anger issues that I am."

He sighed. "Come here, brat with anger issues," he said as he pulled me into a hug.

"How about we go out for ice cream? My treat," I offered.

"Sure, let's go. I'm gonna get dressed first, so shoo." I waited for him to get dressed and we left.

"You totally just walked past the car, Raelynn."

"I know. We are going to walk today."

He groaned. "You're the walker, not me. Remember?"

"I know, but I think we both need some fresh air," I said, taking his hand and dragging him away from the car.

"I'm not moving," he whined. I kept trying to pull him away from the car. "You're not gonna make me do it!"

I laughed at his imitation of a child. "Come on, lazy bones. We are walking, or no ice cream."

"Ugh, fine. Have it your way."

I pulled him into a side hug. "You're such an annoying child," I said with a laugh.

"You love it."

"Oh, totally." After a ten minute walk, we made it to the ice cream parlor.

"It smells so good in here. It's like torture knowing I can't have it all," Noah said.

"Become rich, and then see what happens."

"Wow, buzz kill."

I smiled at him. "I am definitely a buzz kill, you're right. I'll go order for us. Go get us a booth or a table." As Noah walked away, I walked up to the counter.

"Hello, what can I get you today, lovely?" The male employee asked.

I sighed. "A mint chocolate chip waffle cone and a rocky road waffle cone."

"Which one is yours?"

I gave him an eyebrow raise. "And why does that matter?"

"I would totally be willing to give you some toppings. What candy do you like? Snickers? Reece's?"

"If I wanted a topping, I would've asked for one."

"Ooh, feisty. I like it." He gave me the ice cream cones. "Ice cream's on the house."

I threw ten dollars on the counter. "Receipt and change please." He printed my receipt and gave me my change. When I looked down at the receipt and saw that he wrote his number down on it. I crumpled the receipt up and threw it away. I walked over to the table Noah chose.

"Hey, you see that girl over there? She's kinda cute. I kinda want to go talk to her."

"So go talk to her," I responded.
