Class ends and I go after the professor to his office . He doesn't say a word , which pretty worries me ..but I don't mind it , I am more shocked and excited than I ever was so I should be patient enough . We enter his office and he locks the door making sure no one is in the hallway . Then he turns and looks at me . A smile forms on his lips as he observes my face . "Welcome , Elena Andrews . The new mutant . " he grins , moving somehow closer . What ...how did he know has he read my mind ?...yeah I guess , he did . When I had this feeling that there was an intruder in my head , that was him . He probably knows everything about me now .
"I don't understand....new mutant ?"
I say ,my mind completely blank .
"Oh , my dear . Yes you are not alone . There are hundreds of mutants in this world . But everyone is special I may add." I stare , unbelieving what he had said just now . Hundreds of mutants...
"The thing that troubles me though....is that the mutation varies from one person to another...but ..in a very extraordinary way , you have the exact same mutation as mine . There are still so many secrets in your power yet to discover though ".
Professor Xavier has the ability to make me feel like I don't know English....can't he speak in a simpler way than that...?
"Charles Xavier . Nice to meet you ."
"Uh...umm..nice to meet you too."
I am still lost , I need details , so many details.
"What's on your mind ?"
"I guess you already know that " , I say grinning and he laughs at what I said . His laugh is really so harmonic and enjoyable to hear...I would always try to make him laugh oh god . Look at his eyes...his sea blue eyes are worth melting for ....shit , he is smiling did he just read my mind now ?! Oh god , that's so embarrassing! Dammit , Elena .
"I-I am sorry!" I say awkwardly , I didn't know what else I should say .
"Oh , it is fine ....now you have a lot to know . And plenty of other mutants to meet....I suggest you come with me to the school , Elena . It is the best place for you ."
"School?" I ask , giving him a perplexed look .
"Yes , Xavier's school for Gifted Youngsters ."
"Woaahh "
My jaw drops and he laughs at my reaction. A school for mutants?! ....really ? I am so excited oh my god , now I can meet people who are like me and then ..I can actually learn to improve my mutation....but...but what about Kyle...? I snap back to reality . My brother needs me , I shouldn't think in that way . I should stay by his side all the time even after getting through the exams . Our parents are rarely in home , they are photographers and they always travel around the world , we haven't been really close to them ..we rarely see them anyway and we just had each other.....and I can't leave him....I need him in my life . I feel guilty....I was actually excited about going to school I cannot believe I almost forgot about him....how could I possibly do that...he always cared for me...My eyes get watery and I just want to sob right now in Kyle's shoulder asking him to forgive me ...
"You can't stay with him . It is dangerous ."
"Stop reading my mind! Just stop!"
I snap before realizing it. That's just me , I snap at anyone when I am upset ...but I kinda feel weird because...he is kind of invading my privacy ...but that's ridiculous I should just get used to it I mean...I read people's minds as well ..it is just new to me that my mind is being read .
"I should go to the dorm...excuse me ." I manage to say...I wanted to apologize for snapping at him...at my professor but...I am just feeling awful right now ...I know he is trying to help...I just.....Kyle...
"Elena..." he calls me when I move towards the door . I turn and look at him . I have a thousands of questions about the school and mutation and about him...but I just want to go to the room now and sleep or something . I may be overreacting but...my brother is the most important thing in my life..
"Let's make a deal ."
"Huh ? A deal ?"
Why does he keep confusing me ?
He laughs again at my confusion...God , his laugh.....Elena can't you stop fangirling for a single second ?!
"You cannot pass the exams without help ....sorry , no offense ."
"Haha oh , yeah I am pretty sure of that ." Where is he going on with this ?..
"So it is really important to you to pass , right ?"
I nod.
"Then here's the deal . I will help you pass and you will pay a visit for the school with me ."
"Wha-"
"Just a visit ." He interrupts and I think about this for a while...come on Elena , it is just a visit and he will help you PASS!
My inner voice tells me and well yes , that is good . Should I trust him though ? Like should I read his mind to be sure he is telling me the truth ...that he will really help me ?...
"Hey , that's kinda offensive ."
I jump startled at what he said . Jeez , I always forget my thoughts are audible for him! He grins and waits for my answer that he probably knows .
"Okay , I accept then!" I say cheerfully . What could possibly go wrong with a visit ? And now I won't have to leave Kyle...Professor Xavier is really nice though , he didn't push me to get convinced to go to the school and instead he will help me ..I appreciate that...but I am somehow still suspicious of what might be on his mind.
He steadies his hand for a handshake and I walk up to him but-
"Woah! Be careful!"
He shouts as he holds me in his arms ..I was practically going to hit my face in the ground because of the telephone wire that I didn't notice I was tripping over it ...I realize how close we are and my cheeks redden immediately ........how awkward......
"Th-thanks!" I say as I back away . "So...um...uh...I should just go to my dorm bye."
He laughs which is pretty embarrassing I may add! And then tells me that I should be tomorrow at his office after my classes end so that we would start working for the exams . I awkwardly wave a goodbye to him and he waves as well and just before I close the door behind me...
"Oh and you were right about guessing my age . I am 22. Good girl ."
He says in my head and I smile . Hehe , I have always been good at guessing!
