Chapter 4~The End of War

Roy's POV
The war is over. Xing has lost, and we have won. Now Ed and I are on the train back to Central. Along with Vanessa. Although she's on a separate train. The train ride back will take at least three days. Right now Ed is sleeping, resting his head on my shoulder. I was wide awake. I couldn't sleep. Guess I'll have to try my hardest. I haven't gotten that much sleep when the war was going on. I rest my head against his, and try to sleep.

Three Days Pass
We hop off the train after three days of being uncomfortable on a train. Those seats are not comfortable. Ed and I arrive at the train station, and we wait for Vanessa to get off. "Roy!" Ed says, tugging in the sleeve of my uniform. "What is it?" I asked. "Let's go. Why do we have to wait for her?" He whined. "Because she was my partner. We have to wait for her so we could go back to Central. Just be a little more patient okay? We'll be in and out of that building before you know it." He pouted. "What's gonna happen to Vanessa?" Why is he always talking about Vanessa? I think to myself. "Beats me. She'll probably just go home or stay in Central. Why are you asking?" He shrugs. "No reason. Just wondering." Then we see her get off her train. I wave my arm in the air, signaling where we were. "Hey! Vanessa! Over here!" I shout. She hears and heads towards us. "Oh hey Roy!" I smile. "Hey Vanessa." She looks at Ed then gasps. "Oh my gosh! You must be Ed! Hi! I don't know what people are talking about you being short. You are not that short. You're not short at all!" Ed smiles. "Why thank you! You know, people are just so mean when they call me short! You though, you know what you're talking about. Also, what's your name?" She laughs. "It's Vanessa. And don't worry. I'm well aware you and Roy are together. Roy and I are just friends." I nod. "Yep. Well, let's go to Central. I need to pick something up real quick. While I do that, you two could try and get along. Ed, I know your opinions on her, but hey, you guys just got along pretty well. Just please be nice to her Ed." He nods. "You got it!" Then we walk to Central.

Ed's POV
That kiss up! She's only trying to get on my good side! Don't forget, I know what you did to my Roy. I'm only playing along with your silly little game, so I don't upset Roy. You better not slip up in front of him. Heh heh.

Time Skip

We then arrive at Central. Roy goes to his office telling us he had to pick up some papers and files, leaving the two of us alone. I decide to go to the library leaving her behind. I pick out a few books on flame alchemy, and smoke alchemy. Then I hear the door close. "Hello Edward Elric." It was Vanessa. "What the hell do you want?" I ask. "I just wanted to let you know, that anything you try to do, it won't stop me from making Roy mine." I laugh. "You're cute! You think that Roy would love you. I've got him wrapped around my fingers. There's no way he would ever love you." She growls. "That's where you're wrong. I just need you to slip up, then he'll be mine." I laugh once again. "Wow. My thoughts were the same as yours. You're gonna be the one who slips up." She chuckles. "Good luck with that." I give her a taunted smirk. "Don't need it... Roy!" I scream. She runs up to me and covers my mouth with her hand. "Shut up you stupid! We are still at work!" Then I hear the door open and I see Roy standing there. He runs up to me and shoves her off of me. "Vanessa! What the hell! What did you do to him?!" He screams. "I-I did n-nothing!" "Roy. She. She tried to hurt me.. please. Get her away from me. I was trying to get along but-" I sniffle, making this even more believable. "She. She almost tried to smack me!" I start crying a little. "She said such mean things! She said things like, you hated me, and that you loved her more, then she threatened me. Please get her away from me." I cry fake tears. It's easy for me to cry on command. I just have to think about one of the deaths I had to experience. It's almost too easy! Roy then picks me up bridal style and heads for the door. I bury my face into his shoulder. "Vanessa, I know you seem nice, but this, is not like you. Please just, don't talk to me or Ed. Goodbye." Once we're at the door, I turn my head, and give her a devious smirk. And the best part. Roy didn't even notice. And, he fell for it. Now that girl is out of the way. I told you Vanessa. He's wrapped around my finger. He's mine.
