Chapter 3~The New Partener

Roy's POV
It's been 3 months since this war has started. Ed doesn't seem to be holding it together. His eyes are blank and he has no expression at all. It's like he's gone insane. The Furher has assigned me to be with someone else. I haven't told Ed yet. But I'm about to. I walk up to Ed who is standing in he middle of the safe spot. "Hey Ed." He looks at me with those same dead eyes I saw after I had to burn that woman and her children. "Yeah?" He asks. "King Bradley has assigned me to work with someone else." He gave me a saddened expression. "Who?" He asks. "The Smoke Alchemist." Ed knew who I was talking about. I told him about her. He despises her. "Oh. Okay." He says, still giving me the sad expression. "It'll only be for a couple of days. You just stay here okay?" He nods without saying a word. I give him a hug before I leave. He doesn't return the hug, he just stays still. "Well. Bye Ed. I love you." He looks down at the ground. "Yeah." He says quietly. Then I leave. I was worried for him. When I went out there I was surprised by her voice. "Hey Roy!" She shouts. I jump a little. "Hey. Don't sneak up on me like that!" She laughs. "Sorry." I laugh along with her. Then we head to the battlefield.

Ed's POV
That girl. I'm. Going. To. Kill. HER. IF SHE DOES ANYTHING TO MY ROY... SHE'S DEAD.

~Time skip~

Roy's POV
Since I've been assigned to work with her, I have to stay with her, at her tent. It's currently night time, and we are done fighting until the morning. "Man. You did a great job out there Roy!" I smile. "Thanks. You weren't too bad out there either." She returns the smile. "Hey, I'm Roy." She comes closer to me. "Yes?" I was a bit nervous about what she was going to say. She was blushing. She comes even closer to me. "What is-?" I couldn't finish my sentence. She kissed me. It didn't last long, and I didn't pull away. She pulled away first. "I love you Roy." I was in too much shock to process anything. "Wait. What the hell just happened?" She looked at me sad. "I confessed my love to you." My eyes widened. "Wait what? But I don't even know your name!" She giggled. "My name is Vanessa. So. How do you feel about me?" I gulped. "Well, your a nice woman but-" She hugged me. "Oh thank you!" I pulled her off. "Wait a minute! Let me finish. You're nice and all, but I'm already with someone." She smiled a devious smile. "Oh. You mean that little boy, who doesn't even return his affection to you. Who cares about him? He's not here is he? So, he won't know." She giggled. "No. I'm not going to." She sits next to me. "Look. He's not worth it. He doesn't even love you. He didn't even hug you back earlier before we left. Remember?" I growled. "You're wrong! He does love me. He's just shocked about all this." She laughs. "Suuurre he is." She comes closer to me again. "Get away from me please." She laughs. "You know you want me." She misses me again. I tried pulling away, but she was forceful.
Ed's POV
I walked out of my safe spot since it's night and there's no fighting. I wanted to see Roy. I went to the tent he was staying at. That stupid little bitch's tent. I peaked into the tent. My eyes widened. There I saw my lover, and that girl, making out. Why? Why would he do this to me? I bet she made him! That evil girl! I ran away from the tent, back to mine. I grabbed a knife. I traced the blade along my finger tip. I laughed insanely. I looked down at the weapon. "Looks.. like... I'll have to.... KILL HER..." I whispered. I giggled like a maniac. "Look out Vanessa. You messed with the wrong person..."
