EPILOGUE

"Do you remember when we first got together?" Asks Mikey, stroking Bunny's head gently. She mews, rubbing her head against Mikey's hand and causing him to laugh.

"God, that was so long ago. How many years?" Pete asks.

"Seven."

"Huh," Pete grins. "Well, what if we were together forever?"

Mikey raises an eyebrow. "Are you suggesting..."

"Maybe?" Pete says, a sly smile in place of the frown that was previously there.

"You're proposing," Mikey says flatly. "No ring or anything, just-"

"Oh, shut up. I have a ring."

"Then use it," Mikey laughs. 

Pete stands and gets down on one knee. In the meantime, Bunny hops off of Mikey's lap in search of someplace warmer--which happens to be Pete's seat. "Bunny!" Pete groans.

Mikey clears his throat, and Pete grins. "Michael Way, you are truly the most interesting man I have ever met. You're smart, funny, and handsome, and you never give up. Your love for me never falters, nor does mine for you. When we met, you were a lanky tenth grader with an undying passion for Harry Potter. And, well, right now, you're a lanky twenty-two year old with an undying passion for Star Wars, so nothing has really changed. You're the only constant in my life, and I'd like to keep it that way. So, Mikey--will you marry me?"

"You idiot," Mikey launches forward and tackles Pete in a hug. "You lovely idiot. My lovely idiot."

Mikey kisses Pete elatedly, and Pete pulls away. "Is that a yes?"

"Yes!" Mikey laughs, kissing Pete once again.

Mikey's never really wanted a perfect life, but with Pete, he's certainly achieved one.
