Dear James,

I started my new school for the first time today! I have 5 classes out of about 10 subjects. I take mathematics (which everyone seems to call maths), English, Science, Physical Education (PE for short), Spanish and then I have option classes. Currently for option I’m in sewing and the teacher is lovely but everyone else in my class call her the devil. Looks like they never actually gave her a chance.

I made a friend today too! Her name’s Abbey and she’s really nice and smart. She said that because I’m a late starter that she’d tutor me at lunch times. Did I ever mention I’ve never been to school? Well, I haven’t. It’s really fun so far, and I can’t wait to make more friends.

At home, I have jobs to do. Just making my bed, setting the table and feeding the chickens. Yes, they have chickens. There’s about eight of them and they’re friendly. One of them is only a chick and it’s called Butterscotch.

I’m really settling into family life I think. I feel like a normal teenage girl now. All I have to do is forget the past, but that’s a bit hard. I’ll get there though, I know I will.

Love, Elsie.

The letter was short and sweet. James was happy for Elsie, but it still didn’t give him the information he wanted. There was still plenty of letters to go, so it must be in them, right?

It's update day!! Sorry for this really late update, it was like I disappeared off the face of the earth! I've actually had poor time management that's all :)
