Rough Landing

"Y-yes sir!" The pilot stutters as he quickly lands the chopper. We jump out before the chopper touches down. "Sky! Sky you alright?!" Jordon shouts as we all run to Sky, who is laying right on top of the mutated walker. We can hear her moan softly under her breath. We crowded around her fearing the worst. I kneel beside her. "Sky? Sky can you hear me? Hotshot! Say something if you can hear me!" I grab her face. "Ughh..." is all she can mutter out. "She'll be ok... right Cap?" Andrew asks nervously. "I... I'm not sure Bomb..." Jordon replies. I feel a tear run down my cheek. "Sky... Say something... anything... please..." I shake her shoulders, "Sky please..." Silence. A cloud of darkness and sadness is upon us.

"Iguana..." Jordon kneels next to me and puts his hand on my shoulder, "I don't think-" Sky begins to cough. "Sky?" I say with shock. She opens her eyes slowly. "Lizard...?" I don't know what to say. "Sky! You're ali-" Andrew shouts just before being cut off by Sky. "My... neck..." We all look at her puzzled. She starts coughing horribly. "It... burns..." With a shaky hand, I slowly move her hair from her neck. My heart drops to the pit of my stomach. Everyone stares in disbelief. "No..." Jordon says under his breath. This can't be happening... "Oh my god..." I can barely breathe... We all can't believe this is happening... "She's bit..."

"W-what do we do Cap?" Andrew stutters. "I-I'm not sure..." Jordon replies, "We... need to end her pain..." "We can't shoot her!" I rebel with tears rolling down my face, "She's our teammate! Our Friend! Our Family!" "There's nothing we can do for her now Iguana! If we leave her like this she's going to turn!" Jordon replies. "Uh guys?" Andrew tries to interrupt. "We can't just do that to a friend!" I shout. "Guys..." Andrew trying once again but fails. "Listen Iguana, I know she meant a lot to you, she meant everything to all of us. Not just as a teammate or a friend. She was close to all of us, but we can't let her suffer like this." Jordon says trying to calm me down "Guys..." Andrew unsuccessfully chimes in. "Fine... but I'm not the one that's going to do it..." I say as I walk to the chopper. "GUYS!!!" Andrew finally gets our attention. We both look at him to shout 'what?!' but we see something that we wished we never saw.

Sky stands up, legs shaking, moaning louder and louder. Her color starts turning a grayish blue color. Her moans turn to screeches. She bends over holding her stomach as wings grow of her back. We stumble back, watching her horrifying demon wings and her finger and toenails become claws. It was a horrible sight. She screams in pain as the transformation completes itself.

"Sky!" I reach out to her but Jordon pulls me back, "Iguana! We need to end this!" I look at him. I nod my head. "Bomb! Take the shot!" he orders Andrew. "I only have one round!" "That's all we got! Aim for the head!" Andrew nods and aims. Suddenly she flies towards me and Jordon with a loud screech. "Move!" Jordon pushes me out harm's way and hits the deck, barely dodging Sky. She flies up to come back around and lets out another screech.

How can I let this happen? It's my fault. I should have let Jordon put her out of her misery right away. This is my fault that she became this... this thing... And now... she's trying to kill us... her team... her family... This isn't right... No one should have to witness someone they care about turn into one of those monsters...

"Iguana watch out!!!" Jordon shouts as Sky grabs me and tackles me to the floor. "Get off me!" I yell at what once was Sky as I keep her from biting me. Second time in a row today I'm trying to keep from being someone's dinner! I push her face away from me. "TAKE THE SHOT!!!" I shout at Andrew. I struggle to keep her away until, BANG! I hear the gunshot. Sky screeches in pain and flies off. She's not dead yet, Andrew missed her head and got her arm. The gunshot must have scared her off. She flies away into the distance. This isn't good.
