- Arizona -

I fell asleep in an on call room Thanksgiving evening. How pitiful does that sound? Very.
I had a suitcase I was planning on bringing to the conference/convention thing, but Alex already loaded it on the plane for me.
It was eight in the morning, and our flight was leaving. I was asleep in one of the airport chairs, but I walked up the stairs and onto the plane despite my struggles to keep sleeping. I am stopped in my tracks when I hear a "ARIZONA!"
I turn around, about to step foot into the private jet that we used for conventions.
"Callie?"
I walk down the stairs and I walk toward her. "Callie what are you doing at take off?" I ask.
"Come home with me, Arizona. Marry me. Be my wife again. We messed up before. Please. Take me back."
"Calliope..." I whisper, the plane drowning me out. "I can't."
I run across the paved field scattered with planes and I run up the stairs. I step into the jet, and the door shuts right behind me. Calliope stands her ground, and we keep eye contact until she's just a spot in the sky.
I look at Alex Karev with a small smile. "You excited about this conference?"

---------------------

I look up at the sky, watching my true love fly away. This was humiliating. I screwed up. I royally screwed up. I couldn't go back to mark and Sofia and say "Mommy didn't run back into my arms like I'd hoped. Mama screwed up and this is her punishment."
So I call a taxi. A yellow cab pulls up next to me twenty minutes later.
"Seattle Apartments please."
I get to the familiar building I once called home and I went to my old apartment I once shared with Arizona. It had been obvious that Arizona and Mark had been staying here together for her perfume and his axe cologne were twisted together in a fragrance that lingered in the air. She goes into the kitchen and sees a blood stain under the knife cabinet. She opens the cabinet and curiously looks at where the knives once were. A note was written and taped onto the knife slot.

Stay Strong, Blondie.

Mark

Well, he didn't write that to her.
She slides a knife out and smiles at the blade.

-------------------------

We were on the jet.
I had fallen asleep.
I was having a dream.
It was more like a flashback.
It was after I had first kissed Callie in the bathroom. I was doing my charts at the Peds floor when she walks up to me.
"Hey." She says.
"Calliope!" I say, smiling. "I haven't seen you around."
"Yeah, well I've been avoiding you." She says, chucking awkwardly. "I know. It's - it's uh weird. You share a kiss with a woman you've never seen before... honestly it's-it's a new adventure. One I'm so ready to take for the second time. Anyway ummm... Do you wanna go on a date with me?"

I wake up from the flashback, rubbing my eyes.
It was 1:22, and we were landing in five minutes. The intercom is what woke me up.
I have made a mistake. She took me back when I cheated. I should take her back for screwing me over.
---------------------

- Calliope -

I look down at the new slash on my arm, wordless. My eyes are empty and cold.
I take the knife back and saw through my skin again.
Hmmm...

---------------

- Mark -

I took Sofia to the zoo. She was most excited to see the monkeys.
Before we go in, I buy her a milkshake and myself a water, then we walk into the animal filled zoo.
She squeals when she sees the sign with arrows pointing to each exhibit.
"Which way are the monkeys, daddy?" She asks, jumping up and down.
"I don't know, Princess. Can you sound the words out on that sign? Maybe you'll find out where to go there."
Making a sour face, she walks back to the front of the sign.
"L-li-lions are this way." She says, pointing to the right.
"Good job, Princess! Can you read what's under lions?"
"T-tig-tiggers. What are tiggers, daddy?"
"Close, Princess. That's Tigers."
"Oooooooh." She says, knowledge clicking.
"Now what's next?"
"S-s-slow-slowthes."
"Sloths." I correct. "But close. Very close. Last one, Princess."
"M-Money! No, not money. Minute?" She gasps. "Monkeys! This way, daddy! The monkeys are this way!"
Taking my large hand in hers, she drags me down the left trail.
