Match

I saw the way he looked at me.
I saw the excitement of his heart,
Everytime i say the words he wanted to hear,
Although i know i will regret the lies.

I could hear a glint of hope in his tone,
He said i was like a match with a fire
And he said i could turn him into flames
He said he won't mind, he loved me.

I burned him, just like he asked me to.
His heart was burnt, now he hates me.
He said it's okay not to love him,
But now he just rage with anger.

He said he understands that it takes time to love,
He said he would wait for me forever if he had to,
He said he knew i struggle to say the words he wanted to hear,
But now he just hates me.
Just when i started to love him, he hates me.

He doesn't know the match that burned him,
The match that's in my hand,
It's burning me too.
But it only makes me fall even more.
