After a minute, my human appearance came back again. They open the circle and thank the spirits that cared and imprisoned me. They removed the metal chain on me.
"What happened during the chase against me?"
Veronica looks like she was afraid to speak.
"Do really want to know?" asked Lord Quentin.
"Yes." I replied.
"You slayed the remaining suspects that killed Dunstan. You helped Dunstan but you also killed their families in one night." said Lady Misty.
I reacted violently."What?"
"The price of helping Dunstan is people may kill you and burn you at stake. Luckily, they don't know your identity yet." said Lord Quentin.
"Everyone, thank you very much for stopping me and for your help." I said to them.
"No problem." said Lord Quentin.
"Coven mates must help each other." replied Lady Misty.
I can't stand so the maid helped me to rise. She gave me the remaining antidote.
"Pardon me if I spilled my potion to you. I'm so clumsy." said the maid to me.
"It's fine. You have solve it already."
We went home. After that hectic and scary night, I returned to office. I move normal like nothing happened. Veronica saw me at me desk, doing my paper works as usual and she seated on my desk.
"Good morning, gorgeous!" Veronica greeted me.
"Good morning, beautiful Hastings." I replied with a wink.
Suddenly, people went to our office. They complained that they saw a wolf-like man. I can't moved because of nervous. The drops of sweat began to show on my forehead.
"Hey... Are you okay?"
"Obviously, no."
She stand before me and tapped my head.
"Calm down, Quincy. I believe that it's not you."
My dad went to us and he gave a folder to Veronica.
"Junior Detectives, you are in charge to this case about the murder of murderers of Dunstan. Investigate it as soon as possible." said Inspector Quincy.
"Okay, dad. As soon as possible!"
My dad lean forward to me. And whispered,
"Hey. I know your secret." I became nervous at him.
"Which one? Let me explain." I answered.
"You are dating, right? Veronica? Mavis?"
We don't gave him the proper answer.
"Omm... Hmm..." said Veronica and I.
"Woah! Silence means yes! Good luck on every night!" said dad.
"What?"
He leaves us in awkward situation. After a short silence, Veronica sat in front of me opened the folder that dad gave to her.
"Hmm... Mavis, look at these pictures."Veronica gave the folder to me.
"Ugh. No way!"
Veronica chuckled at me.I can tolerate gore pictures but those are my victims.
"Wow. I'm impressed on how you killed them." Dunstan said.
"Don't be..." I said to the ghost.
"What?" Veronica asked.
"Nothin'."
Dunstan started to whisper on my right ear.
"I am grateful on what you've done. I don't expected that you have an excellent service."
"Yeah. I don't expect it too. Maybe because of my accidental transformation and they are the target of my subconscious." I replied, telepathically.
When I got home, I saw Dunstan sitting on my chair.
"Maybe it is time to say goodbye. Because of you, my soul is very peaceful now."
"Alright. Bye. I'm glad that I helped you. Your contract to me is done."I grinned happily to him and I wave my hand.
His appearance is slowly vanished again. I will miss that strange ghost detective.
When I went to the bathroom, I saw Inspector Dunstan sitting on the toilet.
"Why are you still here? I thought you will rest in peace. I thought that you ferried with Styx or having a trip with Lord Anubis?" I asked.
"Uhm... Maybe..."
