"Looking for this?" I spun around, taking rushed steps back because he was so close.
The person that spoke held my phone in his hand and had a smirk plastered on his lips. Shoulder-length, black hair framed his pale face and cunning eyes pinned me to the spot. But it was none of those things that caught my eye first.
He was wearing a crisp, white shirt and clean, black trousers. Well, at least they must have been...before they got covered with blood. It dripped down from his mouth and was splattered all over him. My eyes glanced over at my phone. The hand that held it was also covered with crimson liquid.
Oh shit. Why did I take this damned shortcut? I could've just walked home the normal way like usual but no, I'm too fucking lazy.
This is all on you, Seo-yeon! And now you're going die for it!
I didn't even notice that the stranger's eyes had been transfixed onto my arm. The arm that I had inured in P.E. The arm that was currently bleeding so much that you could see patches of blood on the bandage.
"You couldn't look more inviting if you tried." He smirked. No, I can't die today.
I turned and ran, I couldn't think of anything else. Hearing him laugh only made me run faster. I needed to get away from this monster.
"And where do you think you're going?" I dug my shoes into the ground to stop myself from crashing into the man in front of me.
Where'd he come from? This was impossible!
That unmistakable smirk was still on his face. Oh, how much I wanted to punch him. Subconsciously, my hands turned into fists and without warning my arm swung across and I hit him square in the jaw. His head moved centimetres to the side but other than that, his expression didn't change.
I, on the other hand, bit my lip to stop myself from crying out. It was like hitting a brick wall and it sent painful jolts up my whole arm.
How is this possible?
Out of nowhere, he started laughing, sending a chill down my spine. It was a laugh I never wanted to hear again. Suddenly he grabbed my wrist and pulled me forward. His face was so close to mine that I could feel his breath on me.
"You really thought that would hurt me?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "You really don't know what I am, do you?"
I could smell the reek of blood coming off him and forced myself not to gag.
What he is? What's that even supposed to mean? If he was trying to tell me he's a psychopath, then I'd already guessed.
"Let me go!" I yelled and tried to pull my arm away but his grip was too strong.
"But my fun's only just starting." he laughed, his smirk getting wider.
Suddenly, his eyes changed from black to red. Was I hallucinating? No, his eyes had definitely changed. Maybe he really was a monster.
Well done, Seo-yeon. This is how you're going to die. At the hands of this...person? I'm not sure anymore.
Suddenly, he let go of my wrist. Closing my eyes, I braced myself for him to do something, anything. My heart was threatening to burst through my chest it was beating that fast and my mind was racing.
What felt like hours passed and nothing happened. What's going on?
Hesitantly, my eyes fluttered open. He was gone. Now I was more confused than ever. Where'd he go? And why? One minute I'm sure he was about to kill me and now...am I safe?
